BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND – BETDAQ is hosting a Cheltenham Festival Preview in Cafe en Seine, Dublin on Thursday the 8th of March.

Due to the phenomenal success of last year’s BETDAQ Cheltenham Preview Evening, we are delighted to announce that we will hold a similar event in Cafe en Seine, Dublin on Thursday the 8th of March.

This year champion jockey, Barry Geraghty will join the illustrious racing panel bringing some fresh insight and tips for this year’s Cheltenham Festival. Geraghty rode his first Cheltenham winner on the Jessica Harrington trained Moscow Flyer in the 2002 Arkle Chase. He won the Grand National in 2003 on Monty’s Pass and also that year he won five races at the Cheltenham Festival, including the Queen Mother Champion Chase on Moscow Flyer and was voted Irish sports personality of the year.

In the 2003-4 season he became Champion Irish jump jockey for the second time and won the Stayers Hurdle at Cheltenham on the JJ O’ Neill trained Iris’s Gift. Barry and Moscow Flyer won their second Champion Chases at the 2005 Cheltenham Festival, and Barry also won the Cheltenham Gold Cup on Kicking King for trainer Tom Taaffe at that meeting.

In 2009 he won the Champion Hurdle on Punjabi the Arkle Challenge Trophy on Forpadydeplasterer and Triumph Hurdle on Zaynar. In winning the Champion Hurdle he became the first jockey to have won the big four races at Cheltenham (Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase, Stayers Hurdle, Gold Cup and The English Grand National).

On the 2 November 2009 he rode his 1000th winner under National Hunt Rules in UK and Ireland when the Nicky Henderson trained Duc De Regniere won at Kempton. He won his third Champion Chase at the 2010 Cheltenham festival on Big Zeb. Barry has had at least one winner at each Cheltenham festival since his first victory in 2002.

The Festival 2012 (13th-16th March) is the shining jewel in Jump racing’s crown. Four days of magic, magnificence and madness, played out by the best horses, jockeys and trainers, on a stage framed by the Cotswold Hills, to a crowd of 230,000 people having the time of their lives.

To get an insider’s perspective on the Cheltenham Festival, BETDAQ have sourced a prestigious panel including for the evening including; MC – Denis Kirwan – TV3, panel of experts including Garry ‘The Voice’ O’Brien from at The Races, Donn McClean, Sunday Times, Newstalk & Racing UK, Jockeys Agent & At The Races pundit Kevin O ‘Ryan and Dave Keena, Irish Field & Irish Daily Star.

Kicking-off at 6.30pm with a DVD overview of many of the great Cheltenham races of the past and also a look back at last year’s Cheltenham Festival to create an electric atmosphere that is the hallmark of this beloved race meeting.

The preview will commence at 7pm sharp and video footage will be interspersed throughout the discussion.

As sponsors, we will also provide special promotions for new and existing members over the course of the night and there also will be a racing quiz with the prize winner receiving a voucher for dinner for four at Café en Seine.

Guests’ can put questions to the panel throughout the night adding an essential interactive element to the proceedings.

Tasty bites, compliments of BETDAQ will be on offer during the 15 minute interval. The event concludes at 9pm.
