CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY PREVIEW: The Champions League returned in style last night, with some excellent, close encounters as well as a couple of very one sided affairs. Barcelona and Bayern Munich both set down the gauntlet for other teams aspiring to lift the trophy next June with impressive victories, let’s see if other top teams can step up to the mark tonight.

LEICESTER CITY v CLUB BRUGGE

7.45pm Leicester City play in their first ever Champions League game this evening, and they will be hoping the heights of European football may kickstart their season. Thus far their title defense has not built up any steam as they have been struggling to find the form of last year, but this is an opportunity to change all that. The Foxes have an excellent chance of progressing from their group, and playing against a Club Brugge side who have only won once in their last six games is a great start. Although Leicester have not been playing brilliantly to start off their year, they are playing a team in even worse form. A big part of the problem for Leicester so far this year has been their defence, as could be seen against Liverpool at the weekend. The good news for Leicester tonight is that Club Brugge haven’t exactly been firing on all cylinders in front of goal, failing to find the net in three of their six games so far. Leicester have scored goals, and expect them to do so tonight as well, but with two under performing teams, don’t expect a goal fest.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.78.

SPURS v MONACO

7.45pm Spurs had been a bit flat this season until a dominating performance at the weekend against Stoke City. That performance and result should strike some life into the squad moving forward, and a win tonight would certainly help. Spurs are heavy favourites tonight, possibly a bit short at 1.57 when you consider the form Monaco have been in so far this season. They have won five games on the trot, including one against French giants PSG so they will be no pushovers. Spurs struggled to find the net in their first couple of games this season, but after putting four past Shay Given at the weekend we are reminded of the abundance of quality they have going forward. Monaco have been good in front of goal this season, scoring in each of their games including home and away against a good Villareal side in the qualifying stages. Although Spurs had the best defence in Premier League last season they have not looked as secure at the back thus far, although they were much improved with Lloris back. Stoke did offer very little in that game, it must be said, look for Monaco to create more chances.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Both Teams to Score at 1.9.

REAL MADRID v SPORTING

7.45pm Real Madrid got the minor boost of Cristiano Ronaldo returning at the weekend against Osasuna. With or without him in the side you know there will be goals in this Real team, with Bale and Benzema also in the side. This will be a tough game for Sporting, visiting the Bernebau. They have been in great form to start the season in Portugal, winning four from four and sitting on top of the league table. They have only conceded one goal in their first four games, so they are holding tight at the back but this is another level of competition they face. Real Madrid are the holders of the Champions League trophy, have been scoring goals for fun in the early parts of this season and now have one of the best goal scorers of all time back in the side. With the results we saw yesterday from Bayern and their Rivals Barca, expect Real to go all out assault at home tonight.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Real Madrid -1.5/2 at 1.71.

JUVENTUS v SEVILLA

7.45pm Juventus have started where they left off in the past couple of seasons, dominating the Serie A. They have dispatched some of the better known clubs already this season and they haven’t even played their best football yet. They are getting accustomed to life without Pogba in the middle of the pitch, but so far it doesn’t seem like they are struggling too much. Sevilla have had a good start to their league campaign, after missing out on the European and Spanish Super Cups in the preseason. Although they have been good in the league, one must look at their form against the top teams so far this season, they put it up to Real Madrid but were easily dispatched by Barcelona. Until they prove they can get the results against the top teams with their current squad it is hard to have much confidence in them. Juventus certainly are a top side, and playing at home it is difficult to look past them. Although the price of 1.53 is possibly a bit short. Sevilla’s defence has been a bit of a problem, where as Juventus are always solid at the back, so look for a small gap.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Juventus -1 at 1.89.

LEGIA WARSAW v DORTMUND

7.45pm Dortmund had a shock loss to RB Leipzig at the weekend, something they will surely feel sore about. Similar to Barcelona last night, look for Dortmund to exact revenge on their next opponents, in this case Legia Warsaw. Dortmund have an so much talent in their side, especially going forward. This season will be interesting to see how they deal with such a turnover in their squad, they could really be tested over the course of the year. The motivation to get back to winning ways should be enough to see them over the line against a Legia Warsaw side who have not won in their last five home games. Dortmund should be travelling to Poland looking to put in a few goals.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Over 2.5 Goals at 1.7.

MAN CITY v MONCHENGLADBACH

7.45pm So, this one didn’t happend last night, so lets try this again. Man City have been scoring goals for fun in most of their games so far this season, trouncing Steaua Bucuresti 6-0 on aggregate to reach the group stages. They are coming off a massive win against their local rivals Man United on Saturday afternoon, and will be full of confidence hosting Mönchengladbach tonight. The German’s have had a strong start to their season also, and breezed through to the group stages 9-2 on aggregate. Looking at both side’s form in front of goal you can expect to see goals tonight. Over 2.5 goals is a decent bet, but at 1.48 it is a bit low. As good as man City have been going forward, they still do look a little bit shaky at the back, as Bravo still needs to settle into his new club. With the goals Mönchengladbach have scored, expect them to cause Man City trouble defensively.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Both Teams to Score at 1.72.
