There is a slight change in going conditions at Cheltenham ahead of day two of the Cheltenham Festival with the going conditions now being described as Good, good to soft in places as was the case yesterday.

After a dry night overnight, the ground has quickened up slightly however on the Cross Country course the ground is being described as good to soft, soft in places. The track is measuring 6.9 on the GoingStick on the Chase and Hurdles track with 6.4 showing on the Cross Country course.

The weather forecast is promising being dry with some sunny spells.

Clerk of the course, Simon Claisse however has once again intimated that he may need to water and was quoted in the Racing Post saying; ‘’I’m now calling it good, good to soft in places for both tomorrow’s track and Thursday’s. I think the prospect of watering in more likely. We’re not doing anything tonight and will take a view tomorrow afternoon for Friday.’’

Today’s feature race is the Queen Mother Champion Chase which is off at 3.20.
