NOW IT’S FOUR NAPS UP IN A ROW: Daqman landed his fourth consecutive nap and second banker of the week yesterday with Big Orange (WON 4-5 from odds against on BETDAQ) and made it 10 winners from 21 bets in four days with Mori (WON 15-8). The naps were:

WON 5-4 VENTURA DRAGON (Monday nap)
WON 10-11 DABULENA (Tuesday banker)
WON 1-2 NEZWAAH (Wednesday nap)
WON 4-5 BIG ORANGE (Thursday banker)

TON-UP BONUS BET AT GOODWOOD: Daqman tries for a double bonus today. He reckons one in the 2.35 Goodwood is twice the price it should be. It needs 10 points to win 50. But, if Daqman sticks to his guns and keeps the same stake at the 11.5 on offer, he’s got a ton-up bonus bet!

HIDDEN HORSE RATES TON-UP TILT

2.00 Goodwood Who are you going to vote for here? As canvassing resumes in England today, mother of dragons may remain pursuing the dream!

I didn’t make that up, and I wasn’t taking sides. These are actual runners in this race with, in market order: Mother Of Dragons (Joseph Tuite), May Remain (Paul Cole) and Pursuing The Dream (Jamie Osborne), not to mention Devil Or Angel (Bill Turner) and Wild State (J S Moore).

Politics is in a wild state all right, but just how did Sarah Palin (Alaskan Star) get into the race? She makes British politicians seem sane.

2.35 Goodwood In my rules of betting, the good recent runsof Russian Soul and Pastoral Player count not in their favour but against them at their age (9 and 10).

It’s hard for horses at this level to put two runs together at any time; much, much harder when they are at the veteran stage, unless they are sprinters.

It will also be hard, if not impossible, to win from a high draw (in fact, no double-figure stall hjas won this).

Front-runner Medburn Dream seems to be trapped too wide to indulge in his usual game of catch-me, so Majestic Moon is likely to lead, and could be a trade horse.

I think there’s a solid win and place bet here, Noble Peace, a hidden horse. Why hidden? Well, he showed distinct promise when winning at Leicester in September, only to pull a muscle when stepped up to a big-field Ascot handicap.

Noble Peace took on too much when tilting at the Victoria Cup on the last day and the 11.5 on BETDAQ this morning is far too big.

I rate him half that price, around 6.0, which would require 10 points to win 50. Keeping the same stake (to achieve a bonus return), I had 10 to win at the 11.5 which will net me 105 instead of the 50 in my pricing up.

3.10 Goodwood Noble Peace’s stable has another good chance at a price here. Filllies can leap forward with the sun on their backs, and there are plenty with potential at age three in this one.

But Queen of Time had been held up in her work before winning her maiden and the faster conditions here will be in her favour. I took 7.0.

I like the Henry Candy syndicate names. I bet they’re all their in the tented village today. Queen of Time is owned by First of Many (steady lads!) and Noble Peace by One Too Many and Candy! I’ll be right behind you if Henry can pull of this double.

HOUSE RULES IN THE DERBY TRIAL

3.45 Goodwood (Predominate Stakes) I nearly, but almost, backed Raheen House at the Newbury Spring meeting. That he was second, splitting two fillies, would normally count against a colt being so talked up by his trainer, Brian ‘I’m bullish’ Meehan.

But time may prove that the fillies in question, Shutter Speed and Enable, are right out of the top drawer (they’ve already won the Musidora and the Cheshire Oaks) as time is already being kind to Raheen House’s 2016 Racing Post Trophy fourth.

The winner, Rivet, was placed in the French 2,000, runner-up Yucatan was second in the Derrinstown, and the third, Salouen, was beaten a neck in the Feilden Stakes.

The form link is Salouen. His narrow Feilden defeat was inflicted by Khalidi, who has to give Raheen House 3lb today because the Feilden is a Listed race.

The kinky track is also a severe test for Khalidi who got unbalanced by the dip when placed again behind Permian at the Guineas meeting.

Raheen House stands out among the bunch of nearly horses. But the potential is with The Grand Visir, a 750,000-euro son of Frankel, his dam’s side having an Arc winner in the family tree.

John Gosden (Khalidi) has won this three times since 2009, one of them St Leger winner Masked Marvel.

But William Haggas (The Grand Visir) turned over a hot favourite when his Storm The Stars (2001) made all the running two year ago.

VERDICT: The Grand Visir lacks experience and that may be his undoing on a tricky track. So I’m for Raheen House, but not quite convinced that he’s banker material. But what are winnings for but to play up!
