ASCOT SPECIAL: DAQMAN 129 POINTS UP: Daqman will always believe he would have landed Classic winner number eight this season had not Terrekova (3rd 53-10 win and place) been hampered and sent wide in the French Oaks yesterday. On the eve of Royal Ascot, it left him 129 points clear of Pricewise of the Racing Post, who lost with two bets.

ASCOT SPECIAL: HOW TO WIN 621 TIMES: Daqman is now leading 35-8 on returns his season, and 442-179 overall since the challenge began. They will clash every day at Ascot this week and are sure to add to the 621 returns.

ASCOT SPECIAL: BETDAQ BONUS BUYS: Daqman reveals tomorrow the key to more extra money from BETDAQ at the five-day Ascot meeting, with value heaped on value. Meanwhile here are the big prices and big-race wins in his success story this year so far.

HAVANA GOOD PLACE BET!

It’s a day for keeping the powder relatively dry ahead of Royal Ascot but a few bets stand out on Monday’s cards for low stakes.

2.00 Carlisle I can back Our Man In Havana at better odds on the BETDAQ place market than I can the favourite Ghost Serge on the win market and that makes plenty of appeal.

The favourite bolted home by seven lengths at Lingfield on his debut but it looked a weak contest on the night and the fourth from the race has been well beaten subsequently.

We shouldn’t use that against Ghost Serge but the grey is burdened with a 7lb penalty and it’s not easy for two-year-olds to build up sequences like it was in the good old days Timeless Times, Provideo et al.

Our Man In Havana has shown form in all three of his starts and whilst no world beater should plug on to grab one of the three places on offer.

4.30 Carlisle It’s hard to not get drawn in to the William Haggas trained Contentment at the top of weights here. Haggas has much bigger fish to fry at Ascot this week but he has an excellent record with his Carlisle raids and this could set up the week nicely.

Contentment had good form last season and won her maiden on her reappearance at Goodwood last month when making all the running and had plenty in hand at the line.

She was beaten 10 lengths into second when 1/2 favourite at Salisbury last season but the winner Poet’s Vanity has gone on to win a Group 3 and finish third in the Group 3 Nell Gwyn so the form isn’t as disappointing as it looked on the day !

Contentment certainly doesn’t look harshly treated on her handicap debut given she’s only a pound higher than market rival Seduce Me who has only managed one win from ten starts and surely Contentment’s profile looks vastly superior at this stage?

5.45 Windsor I’m finishing where I’ll start tomorrow, Berkshire, just down the road at Windsor.

The opening apprentice handicap looks closely knit with the exception of Hope Is High who could be ahead of the game.

He bolted home at Yarmouth last week and John Berry is striking while the iron is hot under the statutory 6lb penalty.

DAQMAN’S BETS:
BET 4pts place OUR MAN IN HAVANA (2.00 Carlisle)
BET 7pts win (nap) CONTENTMENT (4.30 Carlisle)
BET 4pts win HOPE IS HIGH (5.45 Windsor)
