PIN-POINT BETDAQ PLUNGE

One bet from each of the GB cards on Monday as racing gets back to normal after the excesses of Royal Ascot.

The BETDAQ MARKET MOVERS published on the site have highlighted quite a morning plunge on the Stuart Williams trained Pinnata in the opener at Chepstow.

It’s quite a tough one to read on the form book though as Pinnata has only beaten five horses home in three starts and was slammed 27 lengths at Leicester last time out. It’s a non play race for me but we’ll see if the money does talk.

3.00 Chepstow An altogether safer play at Chepstow should be the Ed Walker trained Dark Pearl in the maiden at 3.00 – one of three four-horse races on the card.

Dark Pearl bids to go 321 after a debut 50/1 third at Newbury in soft ground was followed up by a course and distance second to the odds-on John Gosden trained Zenon.

The danger is the Mark Johnston trained Assiduous who was a creditable fourth on debut at Haydock and the stable have hit a purple patch.

3.15 Wolverhampton We do have a class 4 at Wolverhampton which, for a Monday after Royal Ascot, is as good as your are going to get.

The favourite Fab should take a lot of beating here on the back of her debut second to Heartache at Bath. She was beaten six lengths but we all know how good Heartache turned out to be… she went on to be an impressive winner of last week’s Queen Mary at Royal Ascot and to say that Fab bumped into a good one would be the understatement of 2017.

Apart from that formline, the other thing that points strongly to Fab is simply the paucity of opposition here. Mark Johnston’s Branscombe would be a major contender on the back of his Sandown win but he had previously shown little in two all-weather starts at Chelmsford and Newcastle and it might well be he prefers the green stuff.

7.20 Windsor A class 3 is the race of the day but attracted just six runners. Fair Cop for Andrew Balding should take this off bottom weight. She won her maiden here in good style over the five furlong trip but was staying on in tremendous style and should see out the extra distance. The form of that race has worked out really well and she doesn’t look harshly treated on her handicap debut.

7.40 Southwell The Kim Bailey trained Forgotten Hero helps make the market here as the class act but has been off the course (jumps) since pulling up at Doncaster in 2015. He hasn’t shown much zest in subsequent flat efforts either and the more recent form of Coroberee is much preferred.

DAQMAN’S BETS:
BET 8pts win DARK PEARL (3.00 Chepstow)
BET 9pts win (nap) FAB (3.15 Wolverhampton)
BET 6pts win FAIR COP (7.20 Windsor)
BET 6pts win COROBEREE (7.40 Southwell)
