DAQMAN VALUE-BETS CHARGE: The Daqman v Pricewise value-betting challenge returns at Musselburgh, Sandown and York today, with Daqman 28 in front this season, 96 overall. The current state of his Betdaq betting is:

  • THREE naps out of four
  • FOUR super-bankers out of four
  • FIVE winning days out of six

ROYAL ASCOT TON-UP TARGET: Daqman has pledged to go 100 wins clear of Pricewise by the end of Royal Ascot next week, with the current score Daqman 37, Pricewise 9 (overall 178-82).

25.0 BETDAQ OFFERS IN SPRINTS: The races chosen by Pricewise today are 2.20 Sandown, 2.35 York, 3.25 Musselburgh. Mindful of the many sprints and open handicaps, Daqman has found BETDAQ offers of 25.0 (twice), 16.5, 13.0, 12.5 and 10.5 across the cards.

FILL YOUR BOOTS WITH ENLACE ON BETDAQ

1.45 Sandown Punters have found this difficult: no favourite has won since 2005, and winners in the last seven years have included 20-1 (twice), 16-1 and 14-1, with not much form to go on.

Both Rare Rhythm and Pacify are big horses and have needed time to get right. At 6.4 and 8.4, I dutched them to small stakes.

2.20 Sandown Mark Johnston won this with a three-year-old lightweight in 2012 and has Enlace off the bottom rung here – 12.5 on BETDAQ as I write – swerving York, where she was in a similar situation.

Older horses, like five-year-old Knight Owl, will struggle against the developing animals of three and four.

Jacob Black won over CD a fortnight back, and should again take care of Tigers Tale and Master The World. Elemraan didn’t get a clear run that day but the same applies to his previous races at Lingfield and Newbury and he maybe makes his own bad luck.

2.55 Sandown (Scurry Stakes) Three of the last four winners had been seen at Group level, which reduces the field to four: Merdon Castle, Profitable, Union Rose and Zuhoor Baynoona.

Profitable has a penalty but, at York, saw off Zuhoor Baynoona and gave weight to a Group-3 runner-up who had previously beaten Merdon Castle out of sight.

Waady was stepped up a furlong at Newbury and was not disgraced, too far off the pace behind Adaay. Today is his track, his trip and his ground.

WANNABE A WINNER? HE’S ALL YOURS

2.00 York Jim Goldie and three times ladies’ amateur champion Carol Bartley, who won this in 2012, team up with Thorntoun Care, which shouldn’t be as big as 16.5.

2.35 York Incredibly, it’s 9.4 the field on BETDAQ this morning, with the list of offers in the orange totalling 105%. Delete one or two horses, and you can back the rest and make a profit!

It’s clearly a very tight and tricky handicap, and we can only hope to get an edge by sticking with younger horses with scope for improvement, and which have a nice weight and a handy inside draw.

I’ve been waiting an age for Mill Reef Stakes winner Supplicant to wear the blinds and, granted enough watering and/or rain, he is no 25.0 outsider.

There’s not much between So Beloved, Alfred Hutchinson and One Word More on their 1-2-4 here over CD a fortnight ago (Al Khan, Highland Colori, Alejandro held).

I don’t believe that is Alejandro’s form (he was drawn on the wide outside that day) and he won twice at York at this time last season: also 25.0 on BETDAQ, as I write.

3.10 York Nap of the day must be Wannabe Yours, who goes well fresh and has Goodwood on his agenda, having won a Group 3 there.

Fire Ship and Top Notch Tonto have lost their way, and Gabrial seems to win only at the beginning and end of a season.

Baltic Knight took this in 2013 but is hard to win with. Yuften is a Group-1 performer but needs to be caught fresh and ran a poor Lockinge.

3.45 York Not another pinstickers’ sprint, if you believe in impressive Haydock winner, Scalzo, whose trainer, Martyn Meade, fancied a Jersey Stakes tilt at one stage.

But, impressive though he was, the Haydock race was run in a slow time and he’s raised two grades today.

Scalzo beat nothing well at Haydock, whereas Twilight Son beat a class-2 winner in a class-2 race at Newmarket, and could be on the way to better things.

BET ONLINE FOR THE SCOTTISH SPRINT CUP

2.50 Musselburgh (Scottish Sprint Cup Consolation) Noble Asset is high in the handicap, paying for back-to-back wins notched in the autumn. Distant Past did a similar trick in the Spring and is up 16lb since April.

Captain Dunne belies his years but its 2011 since he won at this level, and it’s three years since Long Awaited scored and since Mappin Time won on turf. Classy Anne needs rain.

Six-time course winner Rothesay Chancer is back to form but was only ninth in this last season.

The one who’s crashed in the handicap is the well-drawn Money Team, who landed back-to-back success at this time last year. I took 13.0 on BETDAQ.

3.25 Musselburgh (Scottish Sprint Cup) No outright favourites have won this and winners at 20-1, 25-1, 28-1 and 50-1 have given the layers several skinners in the decade.

Winners come from either side of the draw (stalls 1, 3, 6 and 13, 15, 16), with a wilderness in between.

Demora and Masamah, first and second last year (Caspian Prince and Hawkeyethenoo behind) are back, with Masamah weighted for revenge but another year older, now aged nine.

Red Baron, second in the consolation last year, has improved 11lb since, and may still be on the upgrade.

Online Alexander (8.0 offers on BETDAQ) won at Glorious Goodwood last summer and followed up in the big apprentice handicap at York, which suggests that Shane Gray should have no problem, as his claim takes the filly to within a pound of that York rating.

Online Alexander looks well drawn in 15, while two stalls away is the lightly-raced Fast Track (a tasty 10.5), who cruised a sprint at Newmarket at this level last summer.
