7-1 CRACKER FOR BACK-TO-BACK NAPS: Daqman landed his second successive nap yesterday with Jupiter Light (WON 7-1 from BETDAQ 9.2) for nine points profit in two days (900 to 100-points level stakes):

WON 2-1 GEORGE BOWEN (Thursday nap)
WON 7-1 JUPITER LIGHT (Friday nap)

DAQMAN 114 POINTS UP ON PRICEWISE: Daqman goes into the Saturday cards with a 33-8 lead over Pricewise of the Racing Post (he’s 114 points clear of him on single-unit stakes or 11,400 to 100). Today they clash in the 2.20 and 2.55 York and in the 3.10 at Musselburgh.

‘OH’ WHAT A 100-POINT ASCOT PUNT!

Royal Ascot here we come Oh This Is Us (26.0 in the BETDAQ orange) is taken to spring a surprise in Tuesday’s Queen Anne Stakes, after working exceptionally well in the run up to the royal meeting at Ascot next week.

It’s a big leap to Group 1, but Richard Hannon’s colt will be suited by the fierce straight mile after being hampered in the final furlong at Epsom, beaten only a head and a neck in the Group-3 Diomed Stakes. Ante-post for Ascot so far:

WIN 100 4pts win OH THIS IS US (Queen Anne Stakes) BETDAQ 26.0
WIN 50 10pts win DARTMOUTH (Hardwicke Stakes) 6.0 BETDAQ offer

16.5 SHOT MEADWAY LOVES THIS RACE

1.50 York (Queen Mother’s Cup) Mukhayyam (at 7.0 on BETDAQ as I write) has dropped 9lb to just above his winning mark at Ripon in the autumn, which followed a close-up fourth in the Lanark Silver Bell. His rider, Emily Easterby, won this race last year.

Imshivalla is down 16lb on his mark of last year at this time but may need cut in the ground to be seen at her best. Offers of 13.0 take that into account and she may surpise.

2.05 Musselburgh Meadway is 3lb lower than when winning this last year and 6lb better off with the runner-up, Olivia Fallow. He had also been the ‘moral’ in 2015, beaten a head giving 4lb to the winner.

Rasheeq’s mark is unchanged from the 90 of his close second in a class 2 at York three weeks ago. This is a drop in grade after three consecutive starts at the higher level, and he’s claimed off. Rasheeq is 6.2 favourite as I write but Meadway miles too big at a BETDAQ 16.5.

2.20 York Farlow, well drawn in stall 4 and third in this race two years ago, always goes well fresh and is versatile, runner-up in a big-field-sprint start to 2015 and led the Lincoln field two out last March.

Now off his lowest mark since running in the International at Ascot two years ago. Being ignored at BETDAQ 60.0 this morning.

Twin Appeal and Gurkha Friend should make this a fast-run race on this ground from their rails draw, with Viscount Barfield (16.5) likely to emerge from the rails pack.

A ‘hidden horse’ in that he’s been on the wrong sort of track to show his stamina. Finished well in this grade over a mile here last summer as a three-year-old.

ARDAD COULD BOUNCE BACK HERE

2.40 Sandown Favourites do well in this and Ryan Moore takes a rare ride for David O’Meara on Fashion Queen, already a Listed winner and fifth in the Lowther Stakes last season, with two who have top five finishes in the 1,000 Guineas this year just in front of her.

John Gosden takes her on again with Ardad, very big at 6.8 if he can reproduce last year’s form.

2.55 York Though they had the first three in the BETDAQ market this morning, older horses over the age of five – the top four in this Listed – have never won this race.

Thikriyaat, second to Ribchester in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot last year, suffered from a fibrillating heart later in the season.

I cannot imagine Sir Michael Stoute keeping him in training if he hadn’t found the answer to the problem, and a ‘quiet one’ here at York in May suggests a test run and that this race today on the same course was the target. Around 6.0 on BETDAQ early mouse.

Khafoo Shememi is already rated within 3lb of dual Grade-1 winner Mondialiste and gets 7lb allowance as a three-year-old. Team Hannon won the race in 2013 with a second-season animal. Should not be 10.0 on that theory.

3.10 Musselburgh (Scottish Sprint Cup) Once again, older hoses over the age of six – occupying the first four spots at the top of the handicap – have never won this race. In fact, if those stats are repeated, they take out 11 of the 17 runners.

Additionally, you need to have an extreme draw. Stalls 1, 3, 6 and, on the other side 11, 13 and 16 (twice) in the race’s eight seasons on this track.

There’s a lot of pace on the high side (Bowson Fred, Orion’s Bow, Robot Boy), which should suit Gamesome, Duke Of Firenze (7.2 on BETDAQ) and Confessional.

Over on the other side, Caspian Prince, who is worse off now with Duke Of Firenze on Epsom Dash form, may find Harry Hurricane too good on English turf form. Harry looked unlucky at York on the last day and is good value at 12.0.

3.30 York Though favourites have a poor record in this, the only one to win the decade was 7-1 in an open race. This is won by sprinters of real quality, notably Group-1 winner since, Twilight Son

They need to be drawn in the first four stalls or from 12 or higher. The middle seems to struggle.

Ekhtiyaar, Carlton Frankie and Munro have all been specifically laid out for the race, while Danielsflyer already has form at the grade and has in-form Silvestre De Sousa up.

STAR’S TURN ON THE FORM FIGURES

3.50 Sandown Four-year-olds are going for a five-timer in this, and Taurean Star’s form under Jamie Spencer since breaking the maiden is 101010 .Missed the break drawn on the ‘wrong’ side in the Victoria Cup.

Laidback Romeo, Greensider and Sir Roderic fought out the 1-2-3 here over CD in May and there’s not much between them now at the weights. When they’re all in a heap, you have to oppose them. Taurean Star was 9.6 on BETDAQ this morning.

6.40 l.eicester Hughie Morrison is 2-3 in claimers here and Maestro Mac is poised to make all the running, despite a massive 8.2 in the BETDAQ orange this morning.

Leading at this distance before fading at Leicester, and then ran over a trip too far, so a hidden horse here.

Though sprint bred, Il Sicario tries a middl distance, while the favourite, Sir Jack, has won only a seller.
