FOUR BANKERS WIN OUT OF FIVE: Daqman yesterday designated a diamond banker to one hot-shot, Jack Hobbs (WON 1-5), and opposed another, laying for a place gamble-of-the-day Fast Track (unplaced 9-2 favourite). He’s now on four winning bankers out of five, all of them better offers on BETDAQ than their SP.

WON 4-5 Kodi Bear
WON 1-1 Gale Force
WON 6-4 Richard Pankhurst
WON 1-5 Jack Hobbs

80 BETS UP AGAINST PRICEWISE: A 1-1 draw yesterday puts Daqman on 80 winning bets for the season against his Racing Post rival, Pricewise. The score is 80-12, with Daqman leading overall 221-85 after 22 months of the challenge. It was Pricewise’s second winner since May 31.

DISTAIN ‘HIDDEN’ BY EXPERIMENT WITH HER TRIP

2.00 York The last three winners of this had all raced at Newmarket, and four of the last five were 9-2 or shorter, though only one was favourite.

Awohaam is the only one today to have contested a Newmarket race but there’s been no winner of this with less than 9st., and her yard also runs Back To Bond.

Back To Bond took them along here at York in July over a furlong shorter, when Reputation came out on top despite a slow start.

Reputation and Dark Defender (not clear run) were behind in a nursery at York on the last day. Desert Ruler and Flying Pursuit have already won with cut in the ground.

It was an easy surface when Arcanada won at Chester. Today is quite a different track but he ran well at Haydock earlier, and he gets my vote.

2.30 York Cosmic Halo goes for a hat-trick in this, similarly placed in the handicap, if you allow Jack Garrity’s claim, but not seen since last October.

Barren Brook, Eltheeb and Eurystheus are also winners at York, and all three have scored with cut in the ground.

Distain broke her maiden over today’s distance and showed improvement though beaten when stepped up three furlongs on the last day. In that respect, she is the Hidden Horse, now switched back in trip and 9.8 on BETDAQ this morning.

Freight Train is the trade horse. Has been well drawn to take them along ‘in the Johnston manner,’ as Mark Prescott called the stable’s front-running style yesterday.

Chief Spirit, Pamushana, Robero, Samsonite and Suitor are also lightly raced, and any one of them could improve, as all are three-year-olds.

THEY’RE UNLIKELY TO HOLD THE FORT IN SPRINT

3.00 York (Garrowby Stakes) Lucky Kristale has had One Chance, Divine, Explosive Lady and Minalisa behind her at Windsor and here at York, and raced in Group 1 at Royal Ascot this season.

But it’s hard to forgive her two years of playing the bridesmaid role since she won at York in August, 2013.

Fort De Loro broke her maiden at The Curragh on today’s type of ground in June and did well back there in a Group 3 when third to Nunthorpe-placed Mattmu.

She needs a strong pace, which seems certain with Divine, Mubtaghaa and Poyle Vinnie all potential front-runners.

Mubtaghaa, who likes it on the easy side but not too soft, has perfect conditions today. I backed him for the Stewards Cup consolation (bumped at start) at a big price.

But the Irish raider looks poised to step up here for the trainer of Sole Power and Slade Power, who has her entered in the Group-1 Champions Sprint at Ascot in October, where she would meet the likes of Muhaarar and Strath Burn.

Things can go wrong in sprints, as with Strath Burn yesterday, so, though I think Fort Del Oro rates the nap, we’ll have a saver on Mubtaghaa. Lucky Kristale sets up the market for us.

KEEP BROUDER IN THE BETDAQ BROWSER AT 17.0

4.05 York Four out of five winners of this had won or been placed at York before. Hidden Justice, Dr Irv and Dominada fit that stat. Most successes come from the top half of the handicap, where Hidden Justice resides.

Hidden Justice, Corona Borealis, Craggaknock, Rosairlie and The Kid have all had only three runs this season and could improve.

At 18.5, front-runner Hot Spice could be bet-and-lay material. There should surely be some trade below that offer for a Mick Easterby going for a hat-trick at York!

But the likely winner, and said to be Mark Prescott’s Cesarewitch hope, is Amour De Nuit, who is two out of three since being put up to 2m. Dropped back to his winning level after being beaten in class 3.

Longshadow, Lady Yeats and Dr Irv are likely leaders, with Lady Yeats possibly lit up by the first-time visor.

I’m going for a punt on Dominada, who will be getting a stone and more from most of these, thanks to the claim of Gearoid Brouder, who has won with two out of three rides in the last 10 days.

Gearoid is strikeing at 36% with a level-stakes profit of 22.75. His only loser in those three mounts was none other than Dominada.

But today’s is the first race over 2m on the Flat for this winning hurdler, and he was only a neck off yesterday’s big winner Nakeeta when third at Chester earlier in the month: 17.0 offers taken with Amour De Nuit as my saver.

ROOSSEY IS WRONG AT 10.5 IF THE SUN SHINES

4.40 York James Fanshawe’s improver The Tin Man has taken on 12lb for cruising home at Donny, which means he must step up in grade against a brace of opponents which are dropping in class.

But Fanshawe’s Group-1 entry for this horse says ‘that’s no problem.’ Can he do a Twilight Son? Even if he does, he has something to find with Roossey.

You can forgive a horse one bad race and Roossey (10.5 offers on BETDAQ look very big) could turn around last-day form with Handsome Dude.

If the ground dries out (the forecast is sunny), he should be a short-odds favourite here on the strength of his earlier second to Magical Memory, who got within a length of Twilight Son in the Haydock Sprint yesterday. That’s where I came in: good luck!
