16.0 BETDAQ BET AT UTTOXETER: Daqman does some reckoning up on his bets so far, and is hoping the break in the weather provides some top prices later in the week. He shies at a 16.0 BETDAQ offer at Uttoxeter today but his nap at Fontwell follows reports of a stable hurdles star launched on the racetrack today.

I WANT TO POT AT 100-POINT WINNERS

The weather is set fair for winners. And I am looking forward to Cheltenham at the weekend, one of my best meetings of the year. There are 20 racecards through the week, if I include one of the Irish venues, Punchestown, which has a Grade-1 chase on Sunday.

There will be value betting markets from BETDAQ, so I am hoping for some Pot Of Gold bets, in which I play up the value I find with a bonus staking plan, and aim for winnings of 100 or more points. Results so far:

DAQMAN 4, PRICEWISE 2: I’m 87p in front of Pricewise to a pound stake at SP! But we haven’t hit a big one yet (watch this space):

WON 7-2 Native River
WON 7-4 Josses Hill
WON 4-5 Yanworth
WON 8-11 Le Prezien

POT-OF-GOLD BETS: None so far.

BULL’S EYE BETS: A profit of 10 points (on stakes to win 50):

WON 7-2 Native River from 7.0 on BETDAQ.

NINE BANKERS UP: Nine out of 11, but nine consecutive still standing, and the last-day loser beaten a short-head. Just under 86 points profit.

WON 4-5 Tara View
WON 8-11 Le Prezien
WON 4-7 Baron Alco
WON 8-15 Asthuria
WON 4-5 Yanworth
WON 2-1 Lough Derg Spirit
(Royal Plaza 8-13 UR)
WON 10-11 Jenkins
WON 2-5 Bellshill
WON 10-11 Death Duty
(Vroum Vroum Mag (2nd 4-7)

FORTUNE COOKIES: Seven winners so far for a 35% strike rate. The list will be revised for the new year:

WON 8-15 Asthuria
WON 2-5 Bellshill
WON 5-2 Fox Norton
WON 10-11 Jenkins
WON 5-2 Its’Afreebee
WON 1-7 Thistlecrack
WON 1-8 Thistlecrack

STABLE SAYS JELOIS’S A TRIFLE SMART

12.40 Fontwell Gary Moore successfully targets the opener (three winners since 2007) and Hermosa Vaquera sits well at the weights. The mare’s hurdles runs in the last two years have been restricted to Plumpton and Fontwell, returning figures of 103142.

She’s as high in the handicap as she’s ever been, 12lb higher than her sole success in this class, and since the summer has been festooned with tongue-tie, cheekpieces. But it’s a poor race.

One or both of Benbecula and Bohernagore should set a strong pace, which will suit the old-timer, Bulletproof, but he also races off his highest mark and is not known for winning when fresh.

With Nick Gifford knocking at the door (four runners in the last fortnight: 2332), Cashanova has a fine chance to improve on his promising handicap debut, beaten only a couple of lengths, hampered near the finish.

1.40 Fontwell Volpone Jelois, who has won twice on the Flat in France in the second half of the year, has been ‘electric’ in his schooling for this debut over the sticks, according to new trainer, Paul Nicholls, who is 33% with hurdlers here.

2.40 Fontwell This venue is not normally the place to look for future big handicap winners or Cheltenham prospects, but this is a cracking contest with three or four of potential.

Alan King’s pair should both welcome this step up in trip: My Kaleesi is a Kayf Tara, and on Corrie Loch’s dam’s side were winners up to 3m 2f. Nicky Henderson’s Silent Steps (winner of a Point) goes back to a Supreme Novice Hurdle winner.

Though Flat-bred (loads of relatives at Group level), Star Rider should be fit to do herself justice, though how fluent she’ll be over hurdles first time only the race will tell. Winner of the Goodwood Stakes and not beaten far in the Cesarewitch.

My Khaleesi’s dam, Katess, won 2-2 at Fontwell, and the selection had winners of four races in second, third and fourth behind her at Cheltenham.

16.0 TOM TIPPED FOR RETURN TO FORM

2.00 Uttoxeter A 10lb claimer nullifies the penalty for Florrie Boy’s powerful Saturday success at Aintree and he’s a class-2 winner dropping down two grades here.

Kk Lexicon is 9lb higher for a narrow victory in class 4 at Southwell and resorted to a novice hurdle without success on the last day.

A 16.0 offer in the BETDAQ orange, Tomkevi looks all set to return to form after two runs back. He had back-to-back success soon after this time last year and the Rebecca Menzies stable has had four winners in a fortnight, shrewd placing for small yard.

DAQMAN’S BETS (staked 1 to 9 for strength)
BET 6pts win CASHANOVA and 3pts win HERMOSA VAQUERA (12.40 Fontwell)
BET 9pts win (nap) VOLPONE JELOIS (1.40 Fontwell)
BET 6pts win FLORRIE BOY, plus 2pts win and place TOMKEVI (2.00 Uttoxeter)
BET 7pts win MY KHALEESI (2.40 Fontwell)
