ON A ROLL: DAQMAN HAT-TRICK OF NAPS: Daqman completed a naps treble yesterday with Dairam (WON 3-10), a huge punt from odds against on BETDAQ. It follows Burnham (WON 5-4) and Novellist (WON 7-2).

ON A ROLL: 83 POINTS UP FROM THREE WINNING DAYS: His winners yesterday included Winslow Arizona (WON 4-1) and Lightning Spirit (WON 7-2). They follow another good price, Pacific Rim (WON 11-2), putting him on 83 points profit in three days.

ON A ROLL: SEVEN WINNERS IN THE SEQUENCE: Daqman’s form figures, race by race, since Sunday are: 122112131101. Today’s nap is in one of four BETDAQ races at Kempton Park tonight.

I can never resist a punt in the old-style handicaps. There are two windmills at which to tilt today, both quixotically named Carlisle Bell, the first a consolation with 24lb difference in the weights, just like the old days.

Though the main race – first run in 1599 – is worth nearly 20 grand, the prize rarely goes South; in fact not since Ian Balding’s win was an isolated incident in 2002.

4.05 Carlisle Bell An open race (7.2 the field this morning on BETDAQ). Balding is back for more today with the early-doors favourite, Restaurateur, and has booked Cock o’the North, Joe Fanning, for the ride.

Stalls, 15, 16 and 17 have won four times in seven years and Karaka Jack (10.0 this morning from stall 14) appeals of the high draw. He just must have a strong pace.

4.35 Carlisle (Cumberland Plate) Young horses (under six) have won eight of the last nine, which isolates five of this field.

Further weeding out is done by the draw: seven of the last eight winners came from stalls two-to-eight, four of them in six and seven.

There’s no guarantee the stats will work out but they concentrate the mind on Mica Mika, a five-year-old drawn three. He’s dropped back to the right trip for the first time in February and is a huge 29.0.

7.20 Kempton (£200 Free Bets At Betdaq Maiden Stakes) Saeed Bin Suroor’s record with juveniles at Kempton shows a massive 42% strike rate.

His form figures with two-year-olds since the longest day on Friday is 112430120, and Anglophile is brother to a filly who ran second in the Irish 1,000 Guineas.

Ralph Beckett (25% with juveniles on the course) fields Extra Noble, who ran second to a Coventry runner at Goodwood, with the third and fourth first or second next time.

Richard Hannon won this with a once-raced sort in 2010, and I note that Rising Dawn was heavily backed on the debut over Sandown’s fast 5f.

The grey is bred for stamina at Group level and tonight’s 7f should show us more what he is made of.

We don’t really know enough to have a proper punt in these sorts of races but we did know this morning that the rush to get on the favourite and the Godolphin left the Hannon far too big at 15.0 on BETDAQ.

8.20 Kempton (Winners Are Welcome At Betdaq Fillies’ Handicap) James Fanshawe won this in 2011 with Hallelujah (lighten up, Leonard!): she was already a winner and the stable’s runner today, Badr Al Badoor, hardly looks in the same mould.

But the Acclamation filly is visored first time, which could change her attitude, though an animal that has won only its maiden is anathema to me.

Above The Stars is a plater rising several grades to this class-4 handicap and looks a false favourite on her AW form of 4040203033230300. Phew!

Glastonberry is a topical tip and Ray Of Joy, an old-time Kempton specialist, should make them all go from the front.

That could line up the prize for Hughsie again. After the outside chance on Rising Dawn, he is even better value here, if a shorter price, on 5.5 offer Red Larkspur.

Horses in this grade hardly ever run the same race twice and there’s nearly two years between her two wins, but she’ll never have a better chance.

8.50 Kempton (Betdaq 1st UK Race Commission-Free Handicap) Fanshawe again, and he’s 25% at Kempton in this sort of race. But Villoresi drops back in trip and is without the hood that brought him victory first time here in November, and that means he’s another who has won only his maiden and has let the side down (twice backed down to 15-8) since.

Lucanin steps up in trip for his handicap debut. Looks as if its wanted and a triple set of front-runners should set the race up. One or more of Cranach, Halfsin and Takeitfromalady should ensure plenty of pace to the race.

Mountain Range has had his win for the year and Waterclock would be a worry if he wasn’t so big at 11.5. Leave it to Lucanin! Nap.

9.20 Kempton (Commission Free First Month At Betdaq Handicap) Three-year-olds have beaten four-year-olds 4-1 in the last five years but have just the one representative tonight, Sennockian Star, with Mark Johnston showing a revival from his abysmal Ascot.

His form since Monday is 100100100, as if another win is due, but it’s noticeable that all three wins came in class-5 or lower. As the man said, he’s short of ammunition this year.

Sennockian Star has already won in this grade, blinkered first time at Chepstow, and was not disgraced, raised a class, and over a trip too far at Goodwood.

Net Whizz is unreliable: he leads or hangs back last. Graphic seems to have lost the plot. Take A Note is best over 6f.

Pategonia dashed clear at Lingfield a fortnight ago but is up 8lb and raised a grade and, if anything can give the weight to Sennockian Star, it could be Ocean Tempest, another who likes to go with the pace.

He’s shown good form at a much higher level (class-2 winner) and also scored at Kempton over CD, so 6.8 is wrong.
