TUESDAY EFL CUP: We preview Liverpool v Spurs in the EFL Cup match tonight at Anfield. Both sides are likely to rest a few key players.

Liverpool v Tottenham

7.45pm Spurs arrive into Anfield tonight facing their fourth away game in 11 days, and having drawn the previous three along with only scoring one goal, the main question when looking at the markets here is how many players will Pochettino choose to rest? And how many will Klopp choose to rest – he obviously has the easier job here not having to worry about European football and unlike Spurs they have played their last two league games at home – so expect a slightly stronger Liverpool team, unless of course Pochettino decides to go for it!

With all of the above in mind it’s hard to argue with the prices at the time of writing, Liverpool are currently 1.75, with Spurs 5.2 and the draw 4.2 – it will be a case of fastest fingers first when the teams come out as that Liverpool price could look massive – but without seeing the teams its hard for us to commit to tipping it, so were going to look further afield for a bit of value.

With both sides more than likely to a rest a few players it could be a slow start, and with the success of our first half tips the weekend (4.0 winner and 2.1 lay winning) we’re going to have another bet in the first half here with a draw at HT at 2.54. We feel that is decent value in what could be a dis-jointed start with some changes. If indeed the Liverpool team is way stronger, it may be wise to take some cover with Liverpool 1-0 at HT at around 4.4.
