WEDNESDAY EFL CUP: We preview the second batch of Quarter Finals on Wednesday. Arsenal v Southampton and Man U v West Ham with recommended BETDAQ bets for both games.

Arsenal v Southampton

7.45pm Both these sides arrive into this clash off the back of solid wins the weekend in the Premier League, and you could say that Southampton are looking forward to this clash having become Arsenal’s “bogey” team. Last year Southampton thrashed Arsenal 4-0 on boxing day, while in this competition two years ago they beat them 2-1 at The Emirates – so the form is there. Arsenal have only managed four wins in the last ten meetings, not a great stat when thinking about backing a 1.87 shot, which is what Arsenal currently are.

You would imagine Wenger may choose to rest a few players and it will be fastest fingers first on BETDAQ when the sides come out. Should Arsenal choose to rest a few, then the 1.87 would become a big lay. However, we expect this game to be quite tight and with Southampton having under 2.5 goals in seven of their last ten matches – we feel that the value is with under 2.5 goals at 1.9. Its hard to see Southampton being too attacking and with their solid defense and good record against Arsenal, Arsenal could struggle to break them down.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.9.

Manchester United v West Ham

7.45pm There’s a bit of a sense of déjà vu about this one with these sides drawing 1-1 the weekend in the Premier League. You’d have to say that United were unlucky not to win, however that is something you can say quite a few times about them at home this season. And you might want to think twice about making excuses before backing them at 1.43.

With West Ham a bit short on attacking options for this one, with Diafra Sakho out, it’s highly likely that they set up quite negatively here to try and frustrate United. With United struggling in front of goal lately despite having plenty of chances, that might not be a bad tactic. We still feel that United will ultimately get the job done though, however under 2.5 goals appeals as a shade of value around the 2.4 mark. It could be also worth checking the price of a United 1-0 and 2-0 win in the correct score market closer to kick off.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.4.
