EMMET RYAN LOOKS ON ANOTHER EVENING OF MIDWEEK PREMIER LEAGUE FIXTURES: It’s a big Wednesday in the English Premier League and EPL betting fans will be on tenterhooks all evening. It’s time to pick some winners.

We begin with the Special One because right now Jose Mourinho is in an oh so special place. His charges are well set to challenge for glory in the Champions League and they control their destiny in the EPL. Tonight they face the type of game that a team that is going to win the league wins and wins with authority. Anything else, and that includes even a tight win, simply isn’t what champions are about. If Mourinho wants to rule England and Europe at once, he needs to make a statement tonight.

Fortunately for Chelsea, they are facing an Everton side that simply isn’t cutting the mustard at present. They present the image of a good team, everyone rates a win over the Toffees, but they aren’t getting the results such talent should deliver. This is an opportunity for Chelsea to make a huge statement on home turf tonight. I like them to take charge early and win with a bit of room to spare. Bet on Chelsea on the Asian Handicap -1.5 at 2.1.

Man City’s fixture with Stoke has been labelled as a banana skin by the market. The reigning champions are still favoured to win tonight but there is a growing sentiment on the exchange that this could be the night City’s title quest effectively ends. To this Tipster HQ says no, no, and you better believe it no. City may not win the league this year but it will not because of what they do on a wet Wednesday in Stoke. This is one where the reigning champions remind the entire football world that they are a force to be feared. I’m backing Man City from the off here, take Man City/Man City at 2.72 on the Half-time/Full-time.

Finally we turn our eyes to St Mary’s where third-placed Southampton has a vital game against West Ham. The Hammers have started their regression to the mean but in spite of the limitations in Big Sam’s side being plain for all to see, the market still doesn’t love Southampton. Whatever you say about Ronald Koeman, the man is beating the odds and showing bettors that they need to give him a lot more love. This one is a no-brainer for me, the Saints will go marching. Bet on Southampton at 1.82.
