RYAN GOES AROUND EUROPE: The international break is over, relieve has spread across the punterverse, it’s time to scan the best European football betting markets to find some big winners this weekend.

We begin with the leaders of La Liga, Barcelona, who face an away clash with Celta Vigo. The Galician club entered the break on the back of a win but it’s been a far from fun run for Celta in recent weeks. The mid-table club looks incapable of getting the right bounce and what they really need off the break is a game against a team that won’t push the tempo.

Instead, they get Barcelona the Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar of La Liga. Barca’s win in El Clasico may have been far from vintage stuff but the Blaugrana have shown a mean streak in the last couple of months. With a realistic shot at the treble on the cards, Barcelona won’t be in a merciful mood on Sunday night. Naturally, the outright is off the table as the visitors are heavy favourites but there is huge value in the handicap markets. For this one I’m expecting the band to be in tune and that’s why I’m backing Barcelona -1.5/2 at 2.34 on the Asian Handicap.

One Manuel Neuer howler was all it took for the market to over-react wildly and make Bayern good value in a Bundesliga match for the first time in months. The title is only going one place this year. With 20 wins in 26 games, this is a team that goes out and hurts teams with regularity. One blip is never enough to write of the reigning champions, particularly against a Dortmund team that has been awful this season. Home advantage should be enough to give Dortmund some kind of a shot here but it’s not done much for them against anyone else. At this price, there’s only one possible pick. Bet on Bayern at 2.14 to win.

Somehow Roma still hold second spot in Serie A despite winning just 2 of their last 10 games in Italy’s top flight. It’s been a far from smooth run for the capital club and rivals Lazio are just a point behind in the race for automatic spots in the Champions League. On Saturday Roma host Napoli, a side whose own European qualification hopes are in serious jeopardy. The huge positive for Roma is they managed to break their miserable run with a win just before the international break. Against an out of form Napoli team, that’s just enough for me to give them the edge. Bet on Roma at 2.24 to win.
