AN INTERESTING SET OF MIDWEEK PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES: It’s a scary slate for punters in midweek football but fear not, Tipster HQ is here to allay your fears and find some winners.

The most frightening man in EPL betting takes centre stage tonight as Alan Pardew, the king of market madness, leads his Crystal Palace team to St Mary’s to take on Southampton. Having looked odds-on to make the Champions League for much of this season, the Saints are finally starting to tumble and the pressure is on Ronald Koeman to get his charges back in the reckoning. Southampton have lost two on the bounce and their last win was against an utterly woeful QPR team on 7 February.

Then there’s the Pardew factor. When he’s favoured, he loses. When hope is lost, he wins. Alan Pardew is the man bettors hate. Tonight, I think it’s time for the punters to fight back. Palace have finally hit the true hot and cold form they should deliver and look safe enough to avoid the drop. There’s an awful lot more at stake for the Saints tonight and I simply can’t see their Champions League push ending this early. I’m going all-in on the home team. Bet on Southampton at 1.71 to take the win.

Wednesday sees Liverpool and Man United continue their jostle for the final Champions League spot. Louis van Gaal’s United have the trickier task away to Newcastle. The post-Pardew melt-down has passed and we’re finally seeing the Geordies back to the gritty game we know they can deliver. United have been doing everything they can do to keep bettors guessing when it comes to their final league standing. More often than not however they deliver and I like them to score their second straight win over Northeast opposition on Wednesday night. Bet on Man United to win at 2.06.

Should everything go to plan in those first two picks, the pressure will be on Liverpool big time to take care of business at home to Burnley on Wednesday night. It’s no help to bettors to mention that Burnley are in trouble but it is worth noting that the descent is getting worse. The past two months have been ugly for the visitors to Anfield and while Liverpool may still have the odd disappointing result in other competitions, they are getting things done in the EPL. I like this Champions League push to continue with authority on Wednesday. Bet on Liverpool/Liverpool at 2.02 on the Half-time/Full-time.
