EMMET RYAN FINDS THE BETDAQ VALUE: There is tremendous value to be found in the biggest game of the weekend and a couple of nice bets elsewhere on the market. Let’s find some winners in EPL betting.

The big one on Super Sunday pits champions Man City against an Arsenal side that is in resurgent form. As I’ve noted in previous columns, January has proven a crucial month for the Gunners, albeit only recognised after the fact, with Arsenal tending to pick up points before the inevitable February slide. Their challenge on Sunday away to title-chasing City is huge.

City are unbeaten in all competitions since a 5 November loss in the Champions League at home to CSKA Moscow and haven’t lost in the EPL since going down 2-1 away to West Ham on 25 October. For a team that has supposedly been stumbling in its title defence, this bunch have proven hard to beat throughout winter and the smarter minds on Betdaq’s exchange are all too aware of the value they deliver. The early money on the market has only made City marginal favourites, thanks in no small part to Arsenal three of their last four league games. When you can get a good price on City, and 1.81 is definitely that, jump all over it.

The early game on Sunday follows a similar story-line in terms of market movement albeit with far less storied names involved. West Ham host Hull City in a game where the punters have soured on the favourites. Two wins in their last five EPL games have seen Hull earn some support from punters. With West Ham on a winless run in the league since beating Leicester on 20 December, support has shifted too far away from the home side. Sam Allardyce teams tend to deliver more for punters as the season wears on and for my money, that’s a big reason to back the home side in this one. Take West Ham as 1.79 favourites.

Finally we turn attention back to Saturday where Southampton travel to Newcastle for the evening game. I was torn between picking this one and the potential return of Jermain Defoe to the EPL, particularly considering Sunderland are taking on Spurs, but one thing jumped out here that made it impossible to ignore the Saints. For all their recent success, the market doesn’t love Southampton. Newcastle looked far from settled and even at home I don’t give them much hope here. Southampton offer fantastic value at 2.42. Don’t think twice, take it.
