FA CUP SATURDAY: We preview Saturday’s two televised games: MIDDLESBROUGH v MAN CITY and ARSENAL v LINCOLN with a recommended BETDAQ bet in each.

MIDDLESBROUGH V MANCHESTER CITY

12.15pm We kick off this weekend’s FA Cup action with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City visiting the struggling Middlesbrough. Guardiola must have been wondering where his life went wrong on Wednesday night watching City draw 0-0 at home to Stoke while Barcelona pulled off one of the greatest comebacks ever seen beating PSG 6-1, while his other former team Bayern thrashed Arsenal 5-1 this week too! A win here should cheer him up, and he has respected the FA Cup this season by fielding a strong side for each game, so we expect a routine away win here.

Middlesbrough are having a desperate time of things at the moment. They’ve slipped down to the relegation zone having gone ten league games without a win – losing six of those. The problem has obviously been up front this season, they are the Premier League’s lowest scorers with only 19 goals – however they have been decent at the back, up to this run. With Middlesbrough’s toothless attack, City to cover the handicap seems the smart play here, they’re currently trading around 2.3 -1.5 goals and that looks pretty big value to us.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Manchester City -1.5 goals to beat Middlesbrough at 2.3.

ARSENAL V LINCOLN

5.30pm Arsenal were embarrassed again midweek against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and they have now lost five of their last seven in all competitions. Let’s face it, they’ve been incredibly lucky with the draw in the FA Cup this season – getting Sutton in the last round and Lincoln now – one suspects that if they got a half decent side they would have been knocked out considering that morale must be at rock bottom. The fans aren’t helping either, protesting about Wenger, and the whole situation is turning toxic – he’ll surely be gone at the end of the season. One wonders if he has lost the dressing room, given Sanchez was seemingly laughing on the bench while his side was getting thrashed.

Nevertheless, they should win easily here, however they are trading as low at 1.09 in the match odds market which is only for the very brave considering their form! Lincoln are in great form too, and surely they have to go for this one with absolutely nothing lose. They’re unbeaten in their last 12 games, winning ten of those – and have won six of their last seven away from home. Obviously Arsenal are a completely different story here compared to the opposition, however we feel that taking on Arsenal isn’t the worst play in the world given the situation with them at the moment. Any Other Home Win (Arsenal to score 4 or more and win) is trading as short at 2.0 and we feel that is worth laying – they seem certain to win but we could see a slow start given their confidence.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Any Other Home Win at 2.0.
