PREVIEW

Scotland head into tonight’s clash clinging on to the hope of snatching second spot from Czech Republic in Group I. With only two games remaining the Scots are two points off the Czechs and only a win today will keep them in the running.

Although most will expect the Scots to win this game fairly comfortably against bottom-of-the-table Liechtenstein, they made hard work of it at Hampden Park after falling a goal behind to eventually come through it 2-1. Stephen McManus scored a 90th minute winner that evening to save face and another win here can be backed at around 1.33 on BETDAQ.

The reverse fixture at Hampden Park last year was a particularly tough game that produced no less than ten cards. With a lot riding on this game, I expect another feisty encounter in Liechtenstein. Although the hosts are out of the running for qualification, they will be looking to avoid finishing bottom of the group and put on a performance for their fans.

Craig Levein’s side know that nothing less than a win will do and they then face Spain in Alicante. Scotland haven’t exactly thrived on their travels, but they are plenty good enough to pick up their first away win of the group today. I expect Scotland to take all three points on Saturday to leave themselves an outside chance of reaching next summer’s finals.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back Scotland at around 1.3: 7 points
Friday’s Return: -5.00 points
