SO NEAR YET SO FAR: MULTIMAN reflects on a disappointing November with a readers observation and hopes for better success in December.

The whole month came down to just 25 minutes.

The Houdini escape was on yesterday after the first two selections won at Wolverhamton and I then needed Bolton for a 100 point mega win.

RUSSIAN RADIANCE WON 5/2
MASQUERADED WON 10/11
BOLTON DRAW šŸ™

I had 25 minutes of hope when Bolton equalised but the winner never arrived.

So, a hefty loss on the month but still 12 winning months from the last 16 and an overall profit during that period.

Reader Richard commented on yesterday’s preview it was an “unprofessional ā€˜chasing lossesā€™ bet”. In fairness, he posted that prior to yesterday’s results and my response is two-fold:

(1) A chasing bet would have been to have increased the stakes significantly and probably decreased the odds. Yesterday’s bet was 10 points at odds of 10.8 on BETDAQ MULTIPLES. So any ‘chasing’ was at bigger odds rather than bigger stakes.

(2) I’ll admit there was the lure of finishing the month in profit. Having had such a good long term record on monthly returns it was tantalising close (in the end) to doing it again. I record my P&L because it keeps ME on my toes and offers transparency to the reader. I choose monthly periods as my targets – rightly or wrongly. Richard is correct in that how I staked yesterday shouldn’t be any different to how I stake today just because itā€™s a different month. However, I would counter back that it’s EVEN MORE important to keep SOME records of your trading and have SOME idea of a timeframe in which you want to show a profit otherwise you have no target. Of course, it should never come down to ‘Houdini’ bets. I had plenty of opportunity during the month to show a profit and as regular readers will know I was denied a profit several times by coming so close, yet so far. But it’s the nature of MULTIPLES – you get the juicy odds because the challenger is harder.

So now on to December.

A double today.

12.30 Lingfield
MOZO

Looked good when winning a Uttoxeter bumper on debut. Gets similar bog like conditions for her hurdling debut in a very weak race.

1.15 Southwell
SINGLEFARMPAYMENT

Very much knocking on the door and his second at Ascot last time out looks the best form on offer.

The double is paying around 4.29 on BETDAQ MULTIPLES.

MULTIMANā€™S BET OF THE DAY:
