PREMIER LEAGUE SUNDAY: We preview Sunday’s two Premier League games with a recommended BETDAQ bet. It’s Brighton v Everton and Southampton v Newcastle.

BRIGHTON V EVERTON

1.30pm It’s early in the season, but this is a huge game for Everton. They spent a lot of money in the summer, and most people will feel that they should be beating sides like Brighton. Before the International break though, they suffered a loss at home to Burnley, and having played the likes of City, Chelsea and United – they now sit down in 16th place before this weekend’s action has started. It’s not the start the fans would have hoped for after spending all that money, indeed some were thinking about pushing for top four – with top six almost a given!

The fact is, they look out of form, and the systems that Koeman has been trying haven’t worked. It’s been 11 games since they’ve won away from home and if you go back to start of last season – they’ve only won four times away from home. Everything points to Everton being a lay here at 2.5, and while the braver punters will back Brighton at 3.35, we’re happy to lay Everton at 2.5 which looks way too short.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Everton at 2.5.

SOUTHAMPTON V NEWCASTLE

4pm This is an interesting game, between two evenly matched sides, and it’ll be interesting to see who comes out on top. Southampton have really struggled for goals lately, and with Shane Long missing the huge Ireland v Wales game midweek – their troubles up front could be worse if he doesn’t start. Newcastle don’t have a good away record though, indeed they’ve only managed one goal away from home in their three games thus far – they weren’t against top sides either. This is a worrying sign for supporting them in the markets, however should Southampton be as short as 1.93?

The answer to that question is no for us – and they look a good value lay at odds on. This should be a really tight affair, with goals hard to come by, and we just feel that this one will be a lot closer than odds of 1.93 on a home win suggest. From a value point of view, we have to lay that price. It’s definitely worth checking the price of 0-0 in the correct score market closer to kick off too.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Southampton at 1.93.
