MAX MAKES IT 4 FROM 5 NAPS: SHAMROCK landed his 4th winning NAP in 5 days yesterday thanks to MAX DYNAMITE (WON 5/4) at Thurles yesterday.

After the nap finished second at 6/1 on Wednesday I got back on track with a winning nap at Thurles yesterday.

Max Dynamite was pretty impressive on his hurdling debut for Willie Mullins winning by six and a half lengths and looks a nice prospect.

It wasn’t all plain sailing however for Mullins yesterday. He suffered a huge reverse in the opener when the classy Un De Sceaux fell on his chasing debut at the prohibitive odds of 1/8.

Unless you were at the course you wouldn’t have even seen the fall as, incredibly, the camera was focussed on those in behind when the favourite capsized three out. I’m all for seeing the progress of the whole field but surely not at the expense of seeing the leader jumping ?

Thankfully, Un De Sceaux, who had the race at his mercy, emerged unscathed apart from a small cut.

He said: “He came out of it well and is grand apart from one little cut which any horse can get. I was very happy with him prior to the fall and it was just one of those things and it was a novicey mistake. I just hope he won’t make a habit of it.”

Back to Dundalk on Friday for the nap and Bairns At Bay looks very much worthy of the nap tag in the filies maiden at 7.10.

She already has two good course efforts to her name (including over tonight’s seven furlong trip) and her ability to handle the surface makes me side with her rather than the class dropper, but Polytrack debutant, Avenue Montaigne.

NAP: Bairns At Bay (7.10 Dundalk)
