LEOPARDSTOWN AND LIMERICK BOTH SURVIVE: Both courses needed to pass morning inspections but the good news is racing is on at both venues.

The soiree to Limerick on Sunday didn’t exactly prove too successful 🙁

Max Dynamite was readily brushed aside by favourite Kitten Rock in the Irish Independent Hurdle.

The good news today is that both Leopardstown and Limerick passed their morning inspections.

Which is great news as at Leopardstown it’s Hurricane Fly v Jezki again….

1:25 Ryanair Hurdle (Grade 1) (4yo+, Class 1, 2m, 7 runners)

It looks a match between the two stars and I fancy that Hurricane Fly may yet again defy gravity. He’s out to win this for a fourth time and beat Jezki here 12 months ago by two and a half lengths. The placings were the same in the Morgiana Hurdle this season. Despite the age difference, I see know reason why these form lines shouldn’t be upheld today.

2:35 IFG/Willis E.B.F. Mares Hurdle (Grade 3) (4yo+, Class 1, 2m 4f, 9 runners)

Surprisingly competitive for this type of race. Carrigmoorna Rock was hugely impressive when winning a Listed race at Newbury last month and can follow-up.

3:05 Topaz Novice Chase (Grade 1) (4yo+, Class 1, 3m, 7 runners)

A fascinating renewal and it looks wide open. Shanahan’s Turn is very much going the right way and bids for a hat-trick after two comfortable wins at Punchestown – the latest in Grade 2 company. He looks a solid place option on BETDAQ.

At Limerick it’s a Mullins family domination in the three runner big race.

2.50 Cliona’s Foundation Novice Hurdle (Grade 3)

Faugheen won this last year – his fourth win in a row and he is now unbeaten in eight races !!

It’s a disappointing renewal for a race with over €20k just to the winner.

Martello Tower was still very much in contention before falling two out in the ‘Monksfield’ Novice Hurdle at Navan last out and might be able to get back on the winning run here. He had previously won both his starts over hurdles and the Mags Mullins runner looks the pick at the prices.

Outlander looks the pick of the two Willie Mullins trained runners. This one won easily at Fairyhouse after a lengthy absence but with Martello Tower we already know he is up to this grade.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Martello Tower (2.50 Limerick)
NEXT BEST: Carrigmoorna Rock (2.35 Leopardstown)
TREBLE: Hurricane Fly (1.25 Leopardstown)
PLACE: Shanahan’s Turn (3.05 Leopardstown)
