15.5 BIG-RACE GAMBLE FOR IN-FORM SHAMROCK: After landing a 5-2 best bet on Wednesday as part of a 13-1 double, Shamrock kept the nap on top with Bishopsfurze (WON 4-9) yesterday and maintained the double a day through Edeymi (WON 2-7). He goes on the attack in the Newbury market today, regarding 15.5 an Irish raider as material for ‘a touch’.

Coming in to land a touch at Newbury. It’s Final Approach at a fabulous 15.5 on Betdaq this morning for our champion trainer Willie Mullins.

We’ve seen many a master class already this season from Mullins, who is yet again making the headlines read like his own Carlow Times.

The County Hurdle winner is still only six and has been quietly brought back in a minor event at Cork after being eased out of it when needing the run in his comeback race behind top-notch Voler La Vedettte before Christmas.

Meanwhile, I shall continue the naps sequence with my ‘buying money’ plan, until I can find a flaw in a market somewhere. So Atticus Finch (7.25) wears my yellow jersey at Dundalk.

Does Edward Lynam follow Manchester United? If so, he’s seen precious little of Dimitar’s namesake since he so named him. One way or another, Edward seems determined to win the 7f race (7.55), with Choral Society also in the line-up and also his own horse.

Who’s this guy? A certain A P O’Brien saddles Flavia Tatiana, attempting his second winner from only his third runner of 2012 and the obvious one to complete my double.

Jim Bolger is also represented on the card, and I reckon the trip will suit General Bunching (8.55), with Ronan Whelan up. Smart boy wanted!

Gentleman Jim has been lucky with the draw in the mile (6.55) so that his Heir To The Mint is poised to upset 10-stone top-weight Aragorn Icon.

SHAMROCK’S BETS
NAP: Atticus Finch (7.25 Dundalk)
NEXT BEST: Flavia Tatiana (9.20 Dundalk)
OUTSIDER: Final Approach (1.15 Newbury)
DAQ YANKEE: Atticus Finch (7.25 Dundalk), Heir To The Mint (6.55 Dundalk), General Bunching (8.55 Dundalk), Flavia Tatiana (9.20 Dundalk)
