11 WINNING NAPS FROM 14: Sizing Europe made it 11 winning naps from the last 14 for Shamrock on Thursday and a straight run of four in a row. The Lexus Chase is the big race of the day at Leopardstown.

Sizing Europe shortened slightly for the Champion Chase after his success at Leopardstown yesterday. There was a slight moment of concern at the last as Rubi Light came back to challenge but Henry de Bromhead’s stable star found more to his credit on the run-in. The run of Shamrock naps is now:

112112111f1111

Friday: Lady Of Kenmare WON 10/11
Sunday: Midnight Game WON 4/7
Wednesday: Blood Cotil WON 4/9
Thursday: Sizing Europe WON 1/3

The Lexus Chase at 3.00 sees Flemenstar and Sir Des Champs do battle again. The former finished five lengths in front of Sir Des Champs when winning the three-runner John Durkan Memorial at Punchestown with a full 29 lengths back to the third Rubi Light who franked the form as top class with an excellent run behind Sizing Europe yesterday.

Many will expect Sir Des Champs to reverse the form today on account primarily of the half mile extra trip and the fact that he may have been a little ring rusty on his Punchestown reappearance.

Further spice is added to the contest in the shape of the revitalised Tidal Bay who is the old boy of the party at 11, going on 12, but running particularly well at present.

It’s a tough race to bet on – particularly due to the fact that I fully expect Flemenstar to get this trip – he certainly showed no signs of stopping at Punchestown and it’s possible he could be even better over the longer trip.

Limerick got the go-ahead after an inspection and Willie Mullins can land the Liberty Insurance Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) at 1.35 with Pride ofthe Parish who was mightily impressive when winning last time out at Punchestown.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Pride ofthe Parish (1.35 Limerick)
