26-1 DOUBLE IN THE MIX FOR SHAMROCK: After naps at 3-1 and 2-1 and a 12-1 double on Saturday, Shamrock put on his Sunday best with Woodville Lady (WON 9-2) and Osirixamix (WON 4-1) in his trio for a double of more than 26-1.

IT’S THE WINNERS’ DEPOT! Shamrock also tipped Frisco Depot (WON 7-2) yesterday and his Saturday-Sunday selections produced the following results, seen as form figures: 22121101

Is there a real Corker in the maiden? With only one exception, since back into the last century, the 2.10 at Cork has been subject of some right old fashioned gambles.

But only one horse aged eight or over has won in that time and champion-trainer Willie Mullins has failed to trouble the judge.

Yet the stable’s Not For Converting is offered as though the race had almost finished and he was not for catching: 6.2 bar one, as I write; 19.0 bar three.

Somewhere in 12 – yes 12 – ‘no hopers’ of young horses is a massive place bet; and there might, I say might, just be a steamer during the day to give the odds-on favourite a run in the market and, hopefully, in the race.

When the going is bottomless, don’t dig down bottomless in your pocket to back odds-on shots.

My choice at long offers is a six-year-old getting the mare’s 7lb allowance, Celtic Cailin, for Jessica Harrington: 19.5, with Robbie Power glad of a seven-lengths start in the mud.

I’ll put Not For Converting in my Multiples (the gamble I’m looking for may be that obvious!) but I need some decent odds if I am to continue my big doubles run.

Final Approach (1.10) has to be a Multiples banker, with the conditions in his favour for Mullins and Ruby Walsh.

Included at more acceptable odds is Robert Tyner’s mare, By The Hour (12.35), who is rated 16lb better over hurdles than for her chase place at Punchestown last time out.

The mares’ beginners’ chase (2.40) looks a headache, with three horses within two points of each other in the Betdaq market, but Simenon has left Top Spin behind in the betting on the more valuable maiden hurdle.

Top Spin and Simenon (1.40) were both rated 97 on the Flat but I can’t have confidence in either on the ground, whereas 6.4 Kings Theatre point winner, Moyaliff, will love it.

SHAMROCK’S BETS
NAP: By The Hour (12.35 Cork)
NEXT BEST: Moyaliff (1.40 Cork)
WIN AND PLACE: Celtic Cailin (2.10 Cork)
DAQ MULTIPLES YANKEE: By The Hour (12.35 Cork), Final Approach (1.10 Cork), Moyaliff (1.40 Cork), Not For Converting (2.10 Cork
