BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY IN IRELAND: They race at Galway and Naas.

One winner from two selections on Sunday. The nap ran a shocker but the next best, Twinlight, won at 15/8. Winning jockey, Ruby Walsh said after the race: “”He was a bit keen early and recovered well from two mistakes. In fairness, it was a good performance and he keeps surprising me.”

It’s a day of jumping at Naas and Galway and I’ve struggled to find a bet. Racing is very competitive at both venues but with few stand-outs.

Safest bet of the day is Fickle Fortune in the finale at Galway. She looked incredibly smart on debut at Down Royal but then disappointed on her second start in the Betchronicle.com Champion I.N.H. Flat Race (Grade 1) at Punchestown.

She is surely worth another chance at this level though and 10 Euro buys you around 6 Euro at current BETDAQ prices which is just about the best investment advice of the day.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:

NAP: Fickle Fortune (4.35 Galway)
