HAT-TRICK OF NAPS FOR SHAMROCK: He thought he was ‘buying money’ but Atticus Finch (WON 4-5) made an 80% profit as his third winning nap in a row yesterday, following a 5-2 best bet on Wednesday and 4-9 on Thursday.

Is it that easy? Thousands of punters will want to be on a Red Mills double of hot-pots Rubi Light and Zaidpour at Gowran Park today but the favourite has won both races only once in the last five years.

And I’ve been impressed by the front-running and jumping of Apt Approach (2.05). I reckon he might be able to dictate this and, though Rubi Light won the race last year, he may remember his last CD appearance.

In a similar small field at Gowran last October, he drifted across in front of the last fence and fell heavily, though the form book will show it as a third (remounted).

Harpsy Cord (1.35) should get the beginners, with no Soll in the way this time; and the Mullins camp will not hear of defeat for Shamar (3.50).

So there’s my yankee, with Zaidpour as the banker, having disposed of his nearest rival in the betting today by 25 lengths at Navan.

Outsiders? Well, the Mullins raid on Newbury yesterday was a no-go, but better luck with Some Target at Haydock (3.20) in a move that could change the market for the Aintree Grand National.

The best long shot at home might be The Sneezer (2.40 who could bounce back for a yard which is 50% in chases on this course. I will have a sniff at the 32.0.

SHAMROCK’S BETS
NAP: Zaidpour (3.15 Gowran Park)
NEXT BEST: Apt Approach (2.05 Gowran Park)
OUTSIDER: The Sneezer (2.40 Gowran Park), Some Target (3.20 Haydock)
DAQ YANKEE: Harpsy Cord (1.35 Gowran Park), Apt Approach (2.05 Gowran Park), Zaidpour (3.15 Gowran Park), Shamar (3.50 Gowran Park)
