TRAMORE GOES AHEAD: This evening’s meeting at Tramore will go ahead after the course passed an 8am inspection.

Following heavy rain earlier in the week, Irish Turf Club officials had no choice to abandon racing at the County Waterford circuit on both Thursday and Friday.

However, conditions have improved sufficiently for the third leg of their schedule four-day fixture to take place tonight. The ground is described as heavy.

The opener will not take much winning and that’s the understatement of the day. On the flat ratings Lady Geronimo was considered best of these and she appeals more than Southfork who was well beaten on his hurdling debut at Roscommon.

The nap for me has to be Ratan in the four runner hurdle at 5.45. The Willie Mullins trained runner is favourite at 1.64 on BETDAQ and takes a drop in class.

He hasn’t much experience on this ground – but handled soft to heavy at Down Royal and should have too much class for Echo Bob and two out of form rivals.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Ratan (5.45 Tramore)
NEXT BEST: Lady Geronimo (5.15 Tramore
