FAIRYHOUSE: Shamrock heads to Fairyhouse on Saturday after getting both his bets up yesterday.
I’m happy getting the nap lay and place lay of Attire up last night at Dundalk…. but not happy as I should be.
It seems everyone else had the same idea and he was a dramatic drifter – SP was 4/1 but MUCH bigger on BETDAQ pre-race and certainly much bigger than the morning 2/1 when the bet was advised.
If you followed me – you’ll have won – but how much would have been dependent upon what time you were placed.
In any event we were right to oppose the morning favourite on the basis of the value of its debut form, lengthy absence and draw and he ended up finishing 11th of 14.
Ordinarily, Dale Street doesn’t have the profile of a nap for me – but pulling the race apart I think he’s achieved then most so far and like the step back in trip today. We are getting around 6.0 on the BETDAQ win market and over evens on the place market which makes the most appeal.
I can’t see him out of the frame so my Saturday nap is a place nap.
