SATURDAY WINNING NAP: SHAMROCK got his naps back on track yesterday when his nap and ONLY BET Ballyoisin won the opener easily at Navan at 4/6. Now for two Group races at the Curragh.

A short priced nap yesterday but it was the only bet for me on the day and so pleasing to see Ballyoisin saunter home at 4/6 in the opener at Navan.

A good days racing at the Curragh on Sunday with two Group races on the card.

2:50 C.L. & M.F. Weld Park Stakes (Fillies’ Group 3) (2yo, Class 1, 7f, 10 runners)

Last year’s winner Qualify went on to win the Epsom Oaks so very much a race to watch closely. Aidan O’Brien (won this twice in the last three years) and Jim Bolger dominate with six of the 10 strong field between them but it might be Anamba for Mick Halford that proves too strong. I see no reason why she shouldn’t confirm Leopardstown form with Coolmore and beat her again. If anything, Anamba is entitled to make the greater improvement on only her second racecourse appearance. Of the other two O’Brien runners, Kind Of Magic and How High The Moon, these were first and second over a mile here with just a half a length between them. However, jockey bookings today suggest that How High The Moon (Ryan Moore) will turn that form around over the shorter trip.

3:55 Juddmonte Beresford Stakes (Group 2) (2yo, Class 1, 1m, 9 runners)

O’Brien’s record in this race is even better !!! He bids for his FIFTH consecutive winner although last year’s winner Ol’ Man River has failed to win a race since and turned into Slow Man River. O’Brien has three runners this year but not the favourite who is True Solitaire trained by Dermot Weld. This one was second to another O’Brien horse Johannes Vermeer at Leopardstown and the form of that race took a boost this week when the third, Sanus Per Aquam, won the Group 3 Somerville Tattersall Stakes at Newmarket. I narrowly prefer the chances of O’Brien’s Unicorn who won nicely at Leopardstown last time out having finished third at Galway on debut. He seemed to relish the faster conditions last time out and it will ride fast again today.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Anamba (2.50 Leopardstown)
NEXT BEST: Unicorn (3.55 Leopardstown)
