DOUVAN THE STAR ACT: Douvan is the star act on Sunday’s Punchestown card but is priced accordingly.
It won’t take to long to preview the Tied Cottage Chase at 3.00 today.
In fact, DAQMAN summed it up in one word – Douvan !!
He’s now unbeaten in 12 runs and has gone off odds-on in 11 of those races! He will be the shortest price he’s ever been today as he has his final run before heading to Cheltenham for the Champion Chase.
The nap on the card looks to be Robin Thyme in the beginners chase at 3.30. The Gordon Elliott trained runner was a winner here over hurdles and also ran here on his chasing debut last month when a respectable fourth to Edwulf. He made a few mistakes on the way round but will hopefully have learnt from the experience.
His chief market rival is Velocity Boy who looked beaten when falling two out at Naas last time out but had previously run well when runner-up at Down Royal. He has more experience than this selection but I’m not sure he can match the potential.
Be The Hero has won twice over hurdles but fell on his chasing debut at Down Royal.
