SUPER SHAMROCK MAKES IT 14 from 20 and HITS 70% STRIKE RATE: ANOTHER winning NAP for SHAMROCK yesterday- HANKY PANKY WON 6/4 which makes it 14 winning naps from 20. The current sequence has included TWO runs of FOUR IN A ROW and 6 FROM THE LAST 7 have won WWW22W6WWWW2LWWWWLWW.

HANKY PANKY worked wonders for me last night ! It was the big 70% strike-rate I was looking for in the current sequence and was pleased with the price of 6/4. There’s been a few short ones in the 14 winners but MOST (8) have started at evens or higher….

Surely it can’t be another Derby trial winner for Aidan O’Brien ?

You wouldn’t want to bet against it. O’Brien saddles Indian Chief in the Dante Stakes at York, a race that has suddenly opened up as being competitive and hard to predict since the surprise defection of Telescope earlier in the week.

O’Brien, who had FOUR classic trial winners last week, last won this in 2009 and 2010 with Black Bear Island and Cape Blanco and relies solely on Indian Chief to give him further Derby headaches (of the right kind) on what to run next month.

Indian Chief has just had the two starts and won his maiden at Leopardstown with comfortable ease. Obviously this represents a big step-up in class but that’s no more challenge than his Chester winners last week faced, pre-race.

Trading Leather runs for Jim Bolger. He progressed to win a Group 3 at Newmarket last season before coming unstuck behind Kingsbarns in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on soft ground. He can’t be readily dismissed on better ground and has achieved more than Indian Chief who is the ‘potential’ horse of the race.

It looks too tricky for the all-important nap and I hope I’m NOT making a wrong Turn in heading to Tipperary 😉

However, it looks impossible to oppose Wrong Turn in the 7.10. He got his act together to win well (in the end) at Killarney on Sunday and under a fixed penalty looks a snip to follow-up. A word of caution though – he may well trade higher in the run as it takes him a while to warm up so don’t get too worried.
