THURLES NAP: After a winning nap last night with Facade (WON 4/7) at Dundalk, SHAMROCK heads to Thurles on Thursday.

Straight forward enough win from Facade at Dundalk last night to land the NAP at 4/7.

Thurles stage a seven race card on Thursday on expected soft ground.

There will be early Cheltenham clues too with the eagerly expected chasing debut of Shaneshill in the opening Killinan Beginners Chase at 12.20.

The Willie Mullins trained runner will go off at prohibitive odds, given his class over hurdles. He won the Punchestown Champion Bumper last season having previously finished second at Cheltenham in the Champion Bumper. This year he finished second to stable companion Douvan in the opening Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Festival and looks a mightily interesting recruit to chasing.

Petit Mouchoir will be another ultra-short priced runner for Mullins in the maiden hurdle at 1.25.

On what could be a field day for the trainer, I am napping his Royal Caviar in the Holycross Maiden Hurdle at 2.00. He’s been an expensive horse to follow for punters but undoubtedly has class and could run well after his break.
