15/8 WINNING NAP: SHAMROCK’S NAP on Wednesday Tarziyna WON easily at 15/8. It’s two winning naps from three so far this week and SHAMROCK is back at the Killarney Festival on Thursday.
Tarziyna landed the nap (and only bet) in style on Wednesday, swooping clear from the furlong marker to win by four and half lengths.
That was my second winning nap of the week following on from PALACE (NAP) WON 11/8 on Monday.
I’m heading back to the Killarney Festival today and it’s a seven race card starting at 2.00.
The big question in the opener is whether the Mick Halford trained maiden Ebadani can finally get off the mark.
He has yet to win in ten starts but has finished second SIX TIMES !!
There’s not too much form to go on here but he is rated 15lb clear of his nearest rival on official ratings and his task has been made a great deal easier with the defection of the Willie Mullins trained Laviniad.
It’s no surprise to see Ebadani trading around 1.6 in the early BETDAQ market and he should finally get off the mark.
The Europe Hotel & Resort Handicap at 3.00 looks ultra-competitive. It’s a 2m 1f handicap on the flat and the Willie Mullins trained Alileo is the favourite.
For several reasons I’m against Alileo – mainly because I think he looks too high in the handicap for what he has actually achieved.
The French import is lightly raced and has shown his best form with give in the ground. This trip might also test his stamina. He dropped back in the closing stages over two miles at Balinrobe when third, was then pulled up at Roscommon over a longer trip. He finished third last time out over 1m 4f at Leopardstown.
I think he is a lay today – but is too big for me to lay in the win market so I’ll take him on in the BETDAQ place market at around evens and need him to finish outside the first four to collect.
