BACK TO GALWAY: SHAMROCK heads back to Galway for their jumps card on Tuesday when the feature race is the Grade 3 Ballybrit Novice Chase.

Yesterday’s NAP Alemela was frustratingly beaten a head by stable companion Zhukova in the Listed Oyster Stakes at Galway last night. Dermot Weld had four winners on the card – it’s clearly not just at the Festival that Weld has the monopoly at Galway !!

The course race again today with a jumps only card getting underway at 4.25.

The feature race on the card is the Ballybrit Novice Chase (Grade 3) at 6.25. It’s disappointing to see Guitar Pete a non runner but despite that the small remaining field of four still looks competitive between three of them.

The Game Changer showed plenty of ability over hurdles and has started his chasing career well with three wins and a second from just four starts. He is a confirmed front runner who again is likely to make the running tonight but this is his toughest task so far over fences.

Willie Mullins won this last year with Alelchi Inois and runs Upazo this year who hasn’t totally convinced over the larger obstacles. He’s fallen twice including when held by The Game Changer at Limerick in July.

That leaves Rock The World who looks the bet in the race. The Jessica Harrington trained runner ran well at the Festival here when second to Sizing Platinum and over the same trip tonight can take a lot of beating.
