SHAMROCK BIDS FOR HIS FOURTH NAP IN A ROW: SHAMROCK heads to Dundalk on Wednesday evening in search of his fourth winning nap in a row.

The maiden at 6.30 looks so average that the two debutants have to be given serious consideration. Dubai Crown for John Oxx and Shannon Soul for Mick Halford both come into the reckoning.

I never like napping debutants though – but certainly keep an eye on both of them and of course the BETDAQ moves.

For the nap I’m looking at the 7.30 race which looks wide open, despite the small field.

Camakasi is prominent in the betting after his course and distance win last time out. He again repeated his trick of being slowly away from the stalls but stayed on well in the closing stages and won going away. This looks a little tougher though and he can’t continue giving away distance.

Preference is for Akasaka who has been given some respite from the handicapper and now races off a mark of 85 having been in three digits last season.

His effort in a claimer here last time out was disappointing but is worth another shout here over the mile trip.
