SHAMROCK LANDED HIS 19th WINNING NAP YESTERDAY FROM THE LAST 31. That’s a 61% strike-rate and in his current ‘mini sequence’ bids for a 5th winning NAP on the spin tonight at Punchestown.

Rebel Fitz gave us our 4th on the spin but Barry Geraghty almost turned an easy win into an embarrassing defeat.

If you didn’t see the race try and catch a replay. What on earth was he doing easing down to almost a walk ? The winning distance was 1/2 length but one more stride and it could have been so different given the respective finishing speeds of 1st and 2nd.

The sequence now reads:

WWW22W6WWWW2LWWWWLWWF223WLFWWWW

* On missing days there was either no Irish racing OR the NAP was a non runner

We head to Punchestown in an attempt to get 5 WINNING NAPS IN-A-ROW.

As you can see above we’ve been in this position twice before and not been able to convert the 5th – so hopefully third time lucky.

Sorry for excuses already – but it’s a mighty tough card, as you probably know already if you’ve had an early look.

For me the two shortest priced BETDAQ favourites on the card are vulnerable.

Seabass (6.15) is likely to find the ground too lively whilst Indevan (7.15) looks very short on what he’s achieved – even allowing for the Mullins factor. He only scrambled home in a bumper last time and has a huge field to contend with here on his hurdling debut.

For the all-important NAP I prefer Ourbeautifuldream in the mares maiden hurdle at 7.45.

So many of these can be ruled out but Ourbeautifuldream brings a decent level of bumper form into the race and also shaped well on her hurdling debut at Limerick when fourth.

Most importantly, she proved she could handle good to firm ground in a Wexford bumper last season.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:

NAP: Ourbeautifuldream (7.45 Punchestown)
