NAAS NAP: SHAMROCK has hopefully saved the best until last tonight with a nap in the closing maiden.

Pocketfullofdreams is starting to prove expensive to follow but I’m giving her a final chance of losing her maiden tag in the closing maiden at Naas tonight.

The Aidan O’Brien trained runner has a much easier task than she has faced of late and in this company could prove hard to peg back. She finished second to Hertford Dancer in the Lingfield Oaks Trial and was then pitched in at the deepest end of all to finish seventh of nine in the Oaks at Epsom.

It was disappointing that she couldn’t do better when an even money favourite at the Curragh last time out but could only finish fourth over 1m 2f.

She was still very much in contention at the mile marker so the drop back to that distance tonight looks a positive.

Belle Boyd looks the biggest danger. She chased home Petticoat at Leopardstown last time out – the third from that race though didn’t exactly boost the form next time out.

As a daughter of Frankel, Goldrush is clearly a filly to keep an eye on.
