SHAMROCK AT BELLEWSTOWN: Where he takes on a Tony Martin trained runner in the BETDAQ place market and has his nap running in the opener.

Soft ground is expected on a busy eight race card at Bellewstown this evening.

In the opening maiden the Mick Halford trained Great Dancer should take a lot of beating. He was sent off at 33/1 on debut and despite showing signs of greenness and being short of room in the closing stages still stayed on to take third behind Belle Et Bete at Roscommon. He finished a nice six lengths clear of the fourth horse and should be able to improve enough to land this.

The stable won this race last year and Great Dancer looks to have the measure of those with experience although the David Wachman trained debutant Extreme Appeal is obviously worth keeping an eye on in the market.

In the 4.40 Cillian’s Return certainly gets ticks in the boxes for being in form and liking the ground but surely the drop back in trip to a mile will prove too short. The Tony Martin trained runner was last seen when winning a bumper at Tipperary in May and has to be a place lay for me today on BETDAQ.

With Dermot Weld running Intisaab and an Aidan O’Brien trained debutant we may only be looking to keep Cillian’s Return out of one place.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Great Dancer (4.10 Bellewstown)
PLACE LAY: Cillian’s Return (4.40 Bellewstown)
