Thankfully I was right to avoid General Marshall in the opener (2nd, 1/4) this is what I said yesterday…
General Marshall is around 1.4 for the opening maiden but Aidan O’Brien’s runner has twice been beaten at odds on and is not one to lump on, even in a maiden that looks, on paper, quite moderate.
Tough day today to extend the sequence – and that, for the time being, will be my priority.
It’s an all chasing card at Sligo and my best bet is Time Please in the 5.55. He’s not been foot perfect over chases so far which is a little concerning but he has run well in defeat and this looks his easiest assignment so far over the larger obstacles.
