TIPPERARY: Race tonight and SHAMROCK’s NAP runs in the opener at 5.15.
Conditions remain testing at Tipperary. So much so that the distances have been shortened slightly for the first two races and the field sizes reduced for safety reasons.
In the opener at 5.15 Stuccodor looks a solid bet to continue his excellent winning run and make it five wins in a row.
The winning run certainly showed no signs of ending when he bolted home by six lengths in a handicap at Leopardstown last time out – that was on soft ground but he has also run well on heavy too.
His other wins were by much narrower margins and whilst he probably needs a longer trip optimally than tonight’s 7f – he is in such good form that he is hard to oppose.
I fancy him even more with the news that Aidan O’Brien’s Reply is a non runner. He had placed form in Group company but the ground was always going to be the biggest worry.
