THEN THERE WERE FOUR: How incredible is it for Wales to have come this far in the tournament? I will certainly be rooting them on tonight as I’m sure the rest of the home nations will be. These are two extremely difficult matches to predict, which is exactly what you want from an entertainment stand point, here’s my picks to make some money from the two games as well.

NOTHING TO SEPARATE SIDES
This is the tougher to call of two very difficult games. To me there is nothing between these sides. This is particularly the case with Ramsey out through suspension. Wales will also be missing Ben Davies through suspension for the semi final, so that is two key players from the Welsh team. You may think that this would mean they are surely going out, but I think they are a much deeper squad than many may realise. I think Andy Kind will be able to come in for Ramsey and do a job tonight.

If you look at the odds for the game, then look at the results so far I think Portugal are a bit short. Lets not forget they have not even won a game yet in EURO 2016, yet they are 2.24 to win this in 90 minutes. They have not been inspiring to me in the tournament so far, there is a gap in the team. When you look at how they set up, Ronaldo and Nani have been very isolated from the rest of the team. None of their midfielders have been attacking enough, they all prefer to play more defensive. The only exception is Moutinho, but he has been battling with his fitness so has not had the effect many people would have hoped for before the tournament.

I have said it throughout the tournament, I think Portugal are a side of individuals. We have seen that Wales have an incredible team spirit, everybody is playing for the guy next to him and it is so refreshing to see. Look at what they did to Belgium in the quarter final, another team with bundles of talent, but no gel between them. Unfortunately with the players out tonight I can’t foresee the same type of result, but there has also been nothing to suggest Portugal will win this game in 90 minutes. Verdict – Back the Draw at 3.15 & Back Under 0.5/1 Goals in First Half at 1.96

INJURIES THE DIFFERENCE
Again a really difficult game to call. These are two giants of International football, the two favourites for the tournament before it all kicked off. Germany are reigning World Champions, France are the host nation. So many things tell you that this will be a really tight game. And it promises to be an excellent game, as both sides play an attacking brand of football, and I can’t see either hugely compromising this for the other team. Both sides should be going out to win, instead of going out not to lose like so many do at this stage.

Germany have suffered three big blows for this game. Hummels is out through suspension, and if that wasn’t enough bad news, Khedira and Gomez will be missing through injury as well! They are three players from the spine of this team that will be missing the game, two of them are missing from where France are strongest. France play a very good attacking style of football, so having a defensive anchor like Khedira is necessary, and of course you need your best defender as well, but they will have to do without. Gomez will be a big loss, he has had an excellent tournament and was their only out and out striker. I presume they will move Muller into the middle and bring in Draxler so at least they will still be attacking, but Muller has been poor thus far.

The main loss for them in losing these players is the physical size for set pieces. This is a real strength for France. They have Giroud who is excellent in the air, Boateng can take him, but then you have Pogba who is good in the air as well as their centre backs so Germany could do with as much size as they can. Especially when you look at the deliveries of Payet and Griezman. I see this being the deciding factor in the game, and because of players missing, I think France will just about edge this one. Verdict – Back France at 2.82
