CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: We preview tonight’s two quarter finals between DORTMUND v MONACO and JUVENTUS v BARCELONA with recommended BETDAQ bets.

DORTMUND V MONACO

7.45pm We kick off the Champions League Quarter Finals with Dortmund v Monaco! Dortmund were thrashed the weekend against Bayern Munich, however we can probably forgive them that result with respect to this tie. While Monaco edged out Angers 1-0 to go a step further to winning the league in France – they’ve won their three games since beating Manchester City to reach this stage.

Dortmund are heavy favourites for this leg in the markets, with the match odds currently trading Dortmund 1.67, Monaco 5.3 and the draw 4.6 at the time of writing. Obviously both these sides are very attacking, and with many expecting lots of goals – the odds reflect that. Under 2.5 goals is just 1.44 – which seems very short for a first leg at this stage of the competition, teams take the “don’t lose” approach rather than go after the games.

Monaco are always attacking but they would be wise to not go toe-to-toe with Dortmund here. Dortmund have a superb record at home in the Bundesliga where they are yet to be beaten, winning 10 of the 13 games too. It seems shrewd from a Monaco point of view to keep this game quiet, and head back to Monaco to try and win the tie there. We feel though that they simply won’t be able to stop Dortmund at home, and with Monaco not great at the back, the 1.67 on Dortmund looks worth a bet.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Dortmund to beat Monaco at 1.67.

JUVENTUS V BARCELONA

7.45pm PSG will be still wondering how the hell they are not here and Barcelona are, however Barcelona face another tough away trip – although it’s hard to see Juve scoring four like PSG did. It’s not often you see Barcelona as outsiders, but the match odds at the time of writing currently stand at; Juventus 2.68, Barcelona 2.92 while the draw is 3.45.

You’d imagine if Barcelona can keep things solid at the back, then this will be a tight affair. It’s hard to see an Italian side going all out in the first leg at this stage of the competition; it’s just not in their DNA. However, they won’t want to arrive at the Camp Nou on level terms after seeing what happened to PSG, and you’d have to think they Juve will need a two goal lead going their to have any chance of getting to the semi finals.

We noted above that it’s not often you see Barcelona this side, however there is a solid argument saying that they should be bigger. For starters, they were all over the place in their last Champions League away game in Paris, but more importantly – look at Juve’s record here. They haven’t been beaten at home in the Champions League since 2013 – that was 23 matches ago and it’s hard to get away from looking at stats like that – it’s very impressive! We see another tough night ahead for Barcelona, and we’re happy to lay them at 2.92.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Barcelona at 2.92.
