Kris Commons’ late winner against Aberdeen saw that Celtic got off to a winning start to ease the tension around Celtic Park. The Hoops now head off to Ross County for their first away SPL game and Neil Lennon needs to ensure the side do not get complacent, even at this early stage.

Ross County have made a solid start to life back in the top flight with two goalless draws against Motherwell and Aberdeen. The Hoops didn’t have it all their own way in the opener, so we can expect a tough afternoon.

I was really impressed with Derek Adams’ lot last season in Division One and they deserved to finish top of the pile. The hosts secured the title by a staggering 24 points in 2012/13 with only one defeat to their name. They were undefeated at home, but then again they won’t have played any side with the quality of the hoops.

The 2-0 victory in Finland demonstrates the side mean business and in three games the Hoops have only conceded one goal. Ross County have only ever played Celtic three times and they have lost on each occasion without troubling the scoreboard.

Given the strength of Celtic’s back four and superior head-to-head record I’m happy to give Ross County a goal start and still get with the Hoops. I’d recommend backing Celtic with -1 Asian handicap at 1.8 on BETDAQ.
