England have a habit of making things difficult for themselves, but I don’t see them stumbling against Montenegro later this evening. It won’t be easy in Podgorica given the hosts are unbeaten on their own turf, but England should have enough quality to edge it and book a place at Euro 2012.

Fabio Capello’s side have struggled at Wembley in Group G, but have looked brilliant on their travels. A lot of that can be attributed to playing in front of a demanding home crowd, while away the side can break off the shackles. It can be tough playing when you know that a draw is good enough, but England are experienced enough to not let it affect them.

Wayne Rooney continues to shine this season and I reckon he’s a great shout to open the scoring. He bagged a brace in Bulgaria and got the scoring underway in that game and he’s had a few extra days training after his hamstring strain. It’ll be tight to start, but as the game opens up I fancy the Three Lions to pick them off and win this comfortably.

Gary Speed’s Wales side are starting to find some form finally, although it’s too late to get them to the Euros. I thought Wales gave a good account of themselves at Wembley recently and if Robert Earnshaw had packed his shooting boots, they could have easily nicked a point.

The Swiss are up next and they are a strong side. The visitors remain in the hunt for a play-off spot and with that will go for the jugular against the Welsh. A point would be a decent enough result, but I fancy the Swiss taking all three here.

Ireland have a fantastic chance to put the pressure on group leaders Russia when they take on minnows Andorra. Russia also face Slovakia tonight, so any points dropped here would open the door once more for the Emerald Isle.

I’d be disappointed not to see Ireland hammer Andorra and to me it’s a case of how many – three, four or five? Goal difference might well become a factor in this tight group, so there’s no chance of Ireland taking their foot off the gas.

If Scotland cannot beat Liechtenstein, it might as well be lights out. Things have been made a little tougher with Scott Brown’s absence and Darren Fletcher is also struggling with a virus. The likes of Barry Bannan and James McCarthy can step in, so it shouldn’t be too much concern against a poor opposition.

I expect Scotland to beat Liechtenstein, but against Spain they stand no chance. It seems that no one can stop the European and World champions, so I don’t really see Scotland causing an upset – especially as it’s in Spain.
