Happy New Year everyone! We’ve made a solid start to 2013 and hopefully we can beat Begles Bordeaux to continue our run – not least because it means I’ll get to have a few slices of pepperoni if we win.

That’s because the squad normally get taken for pizza when we notch up three victories in a row.

Unfortunately, it’s been a while since we last managed that so we’ve all developed some serious cravings.

In terms of this week’s BETDAQ bet, I’d love to be backing Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, but I just can’t see my side getting the better of Chelsea.

Rafael Benitez is doing the job he was brought in to do and the Blues are going pretty well under the Spaniard, whereas Arsenal just can’t get a run together. We go into the weekend an unbelievable 21 points behind Manchester United after the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.

That game was over the moment Laurent Koscielny thought he was Chris Hala’ufia and saw red for bringing down Edin Dzeko in the box, and there hasn’t been an awful lot of time to recover from Wednesday’s exertions in the FA Cup at Swansea, so I am pessimistic about our chances.

Pizzerias near Old Trafford will be enjoying a roaring trade this season if Sir Alex Ferguson employs the same reward system us, with his boys winning 18 of their 22 Premier League fixtures this term.

Most recent was the 2-1 triumph against Liverpool on Saturday and United are in ominous form.

They face Tottenham, who are going well themselves, on Sunday in the weekend’s big TV game. It promises to be quite a contest.

As much as it pains me to say it, I’ve been impressed with what Andre Villas-Boas is achieving. Indeed, Spurs took all three points from their trip to Old Trafford earlier in the season, while all other visitors have returned empty handed.

Spurs have also been going well at White Hart Lane and they’ll be confident about getting something from the game.

I think the draw is a result both mangers would settle for and it’s the outcome that, at odds of 3.5, I will put my BETDAQ wager on.
