BHA Announce Provisional Pattern Program: After the news on Monday that elite sports in England were allowed to take place from June 1st onwards, the BHA has been working on a flat pattern and listed race programme.

Their aim is still to return to action on June 1, however from the 3rd of June we will start to see some very exciting races. We could have an excellent June and July ahead for racing fans, with the 2000 Guineas and 1000 Guineas pencilled in for Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of June. Racing will be back with a bang on the first weekend.

The Derby and Oaks will be scheduled for Saturday the 4th of July with Royal Ascot keeping their original date of June 16. One big change is the Eclipse will only be for four year olds and upwards, and that will take place the day after the Derby on July 5th. However, we know that this plan is only provisional so the dates may change.

Whatever way you look at it, it promises to be a very exciting month of action for racing fans after waiting so long! Fingers crossed it is safe to resume action behind closed doors and we can see some stars in action.
