SATURDAY AND JOSHUA’S BACK: World Boxing’s biggest superstar Anthony Joshua returns to the ring on Saturday night to take on mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev at Wembley Arena.

We had excellent news earlier in the week too that the British government is allowing 1,000 fans to attend so we should have some sort of atmosphere at least. This will be a completely new environment for Joshua who is used to fighting in front of 75,000+ and he has also attended some behind closed doors events to see what the feeling is like too, but this will be a totally new experience with a small crowd. The stage is set for a wonderful fight.

A lot of people like to talk down mandatory challengers and while Pulev won’t be too well known outside of hardcore boxing fans, Joshua will know that this will be a tough test. The casual boxing fan will see this has a routine win but Pulev looks in excellent shape ahead of this fight. With Covid19 changing the world, it’s likely a lot of athletes spent the time training – especially if they had access to their gym and had a big target like this.

It’s hard to see past a Joshua win nonetheless. He has an excellent CV, and you’d probably say that Parker and Povetkin are better than Pulev – perhaps on a par with Andy Ruiz. He was absolutely excellent against Andy Ruiz to claim back his titles, and we saw a different side of Joshua with more boxing skills. Joshua is obviously very short to win in the match odds market, however there can be some money made in the markets outside of the main event. Joshua is trading as short as 1.16 to win. To win by KO is trading around 1.45 and there could be value in backing Joshua to win by points at 5.0 or bigger on the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

Joshua put on a masterclass in boxing skill against Ruiz, and with Pulev looking in the best shape of his life he could need to execute a similar performance here. Joshua has a lot of punching power, but he does have excellent boxing ability too and at the odds it’s worth taking a chance we will see the box and move approach. Pulev will be tough to KO in this shape, we know Joshua has massive power but at odds of 5.0 or bigger it offers a lot of value to go with a points decision.

Recommended bet:
Back Anthony Joshua to win by Decision/Technical Decision at 5.0+ or bigger on BETDAQ Exchange.
