CARABAO CUP: We preview Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg between LEICESTER v ASTON VILLA with a recommended BETDAQ bet and extended match stats.

LEICESTER V ASTON VILLA

8pm Leicester host Aston Villa in the first leg of the second Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday night. It’s fair to say that both sides will be delighted with the draw – Leicester wouldn’t have minded getting United but Villa would have been hoping for Leicester and Leicester will obviously see Villa as the best chance to get to the final. Leicester have been excellent this season and this will probably be Villa’s biggest clash of the season unless they get into a relegation fight towards the end of the season.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Leicester 1.4, Aston Villa 8.8 and the draw is 5.3. Villa got lucky in the quarter finals against Liverpool when it clashed with the Club World Cup; Liverpool fielded an academy side and Villa won easily. Leicester have been hard to fault this season – they have scored a huge amount of goals and while they have come up short against the real top sides; you couldn’t expect them to beat the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

Villa’s aim here will surely to be get to the second leg with the game still very close. Leicester have been very dangerous this season with Vardy in excellent form and Villa would probably take a one goal loss tonight heading into the second leg. A draw or win would be a huge bonus and that might make it a dull affair. Leicester can’t go all-out attack given it’s a two leg game and under 2.5 goals looks cracking value at 2.42. We have it closer to 2.0 and expect a tight game here with Leicester eventually running out 1-0 or 2-0 winners.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.42.
